Default RE: new plane just got done?

Looks nice. The airfoil looks to be a triangle, peaking on the spar? Performance is better with 2 folds(2 peaks above 2 spars), and WAY better if it is smoothly curved over the spar (like a Clark Y, etc). But it'll probably fly OK(not very good deadstick glide). With those hugh ailerons, keep the speed way down, or they will flutter BAD and unfortunate things will happen real fast. Hover? You would need to know what the AUW is, and what prop, at what RPM, to determing total thrust. Min should be 1.4x AUW, and better at 2x+(power to pull out with authority). The plane must be balanced correctly for a decent hover as well. If I had to guess, the ST with a 12x4w, might hover it for a few seconds. A .60ish engine might do it justice though. Fly it and tell us how she performs. That's the true test. Nice lookin work! I don't want to seem totally negative.

The ailerons are WAY to much on the cord size. flutter kills.
If You want a Spad to hover build a SPA3D.
On Your Spad.
Cut the ailerons down to 1 1/2 or 2 inch cord and add a second spar the get rid of the triangle shape and You'll have a cool Spad sport plane.

And Yes with a big enough engine and a very good pilot that plane could hover.

And Yes the triangle shape wings fly, but have poor low speed characteristics.
Good luck with what ever You do.
Please be safe, untested plane designs can bite You hard, and hurt a lot...ask Me how I know....LOL!

I will do that cut down on the ailerons.
one quastion I taought the biger ailerons= faster rolls and sensitive moovment?
but I think you gyes R right with the flutter thing.

thanks

Would also suggest you make up some full width control horns to, looks like you've used standard items, the coro will bend around these. You can make some from the corners of scrap downpipe or you could keep the standard ones you have and put lollipop sticks underneath them to spread the load, like this..

A cleaner airfoil allows the air to flow over the wing more efficiently and produces much less turbulent air.It is the degree of turbulent air that makes or breaks how well your control surfaces will function.Larger control surfaces don't change anything if they have to operate in an enviroment of constant turbulence.Loose the triangle airfoil and go to a more conventional one as has been suggested previously.Best of luck.
