Default 109 racer "Bonom Nox"

Thought I would share some pics of my good buddy Robert Vogel's new ride. This is a scratch built 109 that was constructed by a consortium of racers down in Texas many years ago. The airplane has been passed around extensively and I ended up with the mildly damaged airframe a couple of years ago. I never found the time to do anything with it so I passed it on to Robert who has completely re-built it. He has several test flights on it and reports good performance. Span is about 55 inches or so with a "massaged" YS 1.15 for power and E-Flite retracts. The paint job is based on a night fighter 109 so Robert has dubbed it "Bonom Nox" which I'm told is Latin for good night. Look for it at a race near you soon!

Super Sweet! An idea on the wing area? I think you should bring that puppy to the 2-day race in Sacramento !

Not certain of the area pjakew but based on the span and chord it's got to be around 550 or so.

550 square inches with a YS 115 . . . that's perfect, Chad!

So . . . as Jake hinted to . . . what are you and Robert doin' on the 22nd and 23rd of September? We here at S.A.M. would love to get to meet you and Robert . . . and see "Bonom Nox", . . . and "Parestroika" &"CzechMate", and . . . (any number of your other gorgeous projects we've been admiring from afar all these years).

I second Ollie's words. I see the work that you guys do in the seemingly short amount of time in which you do it and wish I was that fast and still able to keep the quality up. Seems I can't get an airplane drawn and built in anything less then 6 months these days.

I'm sure Robert is aware of the S.A.M. event in September although I have no idea if he is planning to attend. I will certainly let him know of your guy's invitation. I would love to be there and put faces to names but all the planets would have to be lined up just right for it to happen for me I'm afraid. If not this time then definitely at some point in the near future.
