Been running both these engines for a while now hastle free, in fact best engines I've owned to date. The 1.40FZ started playing up first, and now it looks as if my 1.10 has got exactly the same...

BME 50 help

Just purchased a nearly new BME 50 that had previously had around a gallon though it. Im running a 22x8 menz prop on 50:1 Sthil oil. Looking at other posts, I see that people are getting 7000+ RPM...

I'm happy with it, unlimited vertical, hovers at 1/2 throttle with plenty in reserve to pull out and the wing loading feels just right. The 1.60DZ would be a waste IMO

I made a tray on standoff's so that the battery would clear the throttle servo (this was glued in place), wrapped the battery in rubber and the whole thing was cable tied to the main tray.

18x6W APC Prop (30% nitro)
4 x 8411's, 1 x 8425 on rudder , 811 on throttle
Weighs around 11lbs

Hopefully going for the maiden tommorrow. To get mine balanced at 174mm my battery had to be located on the tray just behind the throttle servo, which meant i've saved weight by removing the tray...

Think the 1.20's in the same crankcase as the 1.50 and 1.80 so its gonna be heavy. I was tempted by the YS1.40 but im gonna stick with the 1.10 to keep it as light as poss.

The fixed schedule this year was a big let down for me because I took the schedule for what it is, but noticed other pilots in my class...
