10 years ago I was looking at doing the same thing. Andrew Coholic from Canada was in need of a TD .09 glow head at the time and traded me for a tap he had made.
Below is his response to how he...

RE: Question regarding the new CS .061 RC engine

AJC,

I was involved in that thread from 4 years ago. Decided to pull mine out and see what it runs again.
I'm running SIG 25% stock fuel.

RE: CS .061 at the Toledo Show

I bought one of these when they first came out, several years ago (6/2/2004). I think it was one of the first batch that he got after Toledo, there is no anodizing on it, all silver head. It was...

RE: Cox / Norvel 049/061 head gaskets

I believe Lite Machines still has these gaskets for the .061 and .074. I bought a couple of bags of 10 washers for less than $2.00 last year. They are listed on SHopatron for $1.99.

10 - .074 ...

RE: Hypercolor 074 turbo heads

In my previous post I guess I wasn't clear about what the pictures were. I made a turbo head, similar to what Tim was making I suppose. The rear engine in the picture is the stock Norvel .074 with...

RE: Hypercolor 074 turbo heads

Digger,
I know there was a thread in June that we talked about this. I made a turbo plug head for the .074 with my lathe at that time. I've included a couple of pics of it. It was my first and...

RE: K & B 1/2A props

I just bought a dozen of the 5x3's. Been working on the aviation merit badge with the scouts. We built control line planes out of coroplast and put sure starts on them. I wanted the flexible props...

RE: Really aerobatic (close to 3D?) 1/2A kit for Norvel 0.061

The Half-Wit is really aerobatic! Lots of info here, just search for Half-wit.

RE: Norvel .074 question

Good buy on the engine and plane.

The Cox .049 wrenches fit the .074 head. Your best bet for the new glow plug would be to go with Tim's turbo head. http://www.hypercolor.biz/Accessories.html...

RE: Norvel .074 TurboHead

I bought several of the LMH .074 motors without heads or mufflers, so I need several turbo heads. Stock Norvel on top, LMH with turbo head on bottom. Stock head on left, turbo on right.

This...

RE: New 1/2a engine design

How about using the turbo plug for this hotrod? There have been several threads here about mods to use them for the Cox/Norvel/AP engines. Would like to see something easily available used.

RE: New 1/2a engine design

The looks of the Viper kinda reminds me of the Shuriken from yesteryear. A always thought the Shuriken looked great!
It looks too good to just be a sport engine!
Maybe an engine man like...

RE: Randolph Bee-Tween

I built the .049 first, then scaled up to a .09, then scale down to the .020. I built them 11 years ago, and the smallest gear I had was 2 Futaba S33 servos, a Futaba 4CH AM receiver and a smallish...

RE: Randolph Bee-Tween

This is my scaled down .020 size Bee-Tween.
I had to add some lead weight to the nose to get it to balance.

RE: Randolph Bee-Tween

I built the BeeTween .049. GREAT flying plane! Surprising how well it would fly inverted, even with all that dihedral.
I scaled it down and put a .020 on one. Engine was finicky, but it flew...

RE: update on the new CS 061 RC engine

CP, I'll have to find my notes on it. I seem to remember that they were within about 1000 RPM on the Cox black 6x3.
I used the AME instead of the CS because I have a little exhaust adapter that...

RE: update on the new CS 061 RC engine

My motor took a long time to break in, and the throttle didn't work well at all until it had many tanks through it.
keep at it. Mine is real close to the AME .061 RPM wise now.

RE: bent Cox .010 connecting rod

Just plain cheapnesss I guess. I paid too much for what I got, could have bought a new one for not much more. So I am trying to make it work. Puting another $25.00 into a motor that has several...

RE: 1/2a 3ding

I did drill lightening holes in my Half-Wit ailerons and elevators. I'm not sure how much weight it saved me, but with 5 servos and ready to fly it is 12oz. With the AME .061 converted to R/C, it...
