RE: J&A Mamba -Up Close And Personal-

What grade of oil should I use? 2000wt canola? perhaps that silicone extra crispy stuff. - wow this is going off on one. RC cars, then deep fried potatos. Seamless transition.

RE: J&A Mamba -Up Close And Personal-

Your thinking of France eh? Poutines? Fries, mayonnaise, cheese, something else. Am I right or have I made this up from somewhere?

RE: J&A Mamba -Up Close And Personal-

J&A seem to be following the ever-popular trend of naming the car after a viscious animal. Marder = Nasty weasel, Leopard = (Work it out!) Mamba = Venomous snake with big teef!

RE: J&A Mamba -Up Close And Personal-

J&A offer a plastic and aliminum version of the wing mount for my Porsche, so I can't imagine them not offering it for the Mamba. The part number on my list is: T3-70/122. BigJim, is there a similar...

RE: Engine dies with more throttle

You say that...but I have actually run an engine for nearly 15 minutes with the pipes the wrong way around. Didn't think it was possible, but I had just the same symptoms as those mentioned. Idled...

RE: Yay for my engine!

They work on different principles. AutoCAD is a non-stack based drawing package. i.e. No part has a history. After you've modelled a part it becomes just another solid. In packages such as...

RE: Rebuilding shocks - won't compress?

I usually leave about 2mm or so from the top. As you push the shock in, the shaft s effectively trying to displace the oil. Since there is no room in the shock body for the oil to move to, the shock...

RE: New to large scale

Grammar is spelt with an 'A' isn't it? Anyway, I don't think there are many on this forum that can educate on the correct use of english. I see so many mistakes it nearly makes me cringe... But that...

RE: Watercooled

Had thought of this myself. PC watercoolers are about the right size, run straight off 12V, and don't draw as much amperage as your average car-based unit. here's a link to one that'll give you an...

RE: Name - Marder

A marder in the true sense of the word is a kind of stoat/weasel/ferret thing. Supposedly, more than a little aggressive. It seems either that FG have, as mentioned, a tank fetish, or perhaps an...

RE: Dirt + engine = want to see what happens? :D

This makes far more sense. To have the air intake sucking up dirt from behind the car, as the tires kick it up, seems like a bad idea even when you say it out loud. It would be better, as 8000 said,...

RE: Anybody??

Hi Whitek,

I think that BILKO1's got one. I've got the PRO version, but haven't seen the offroad version running.

RE: NEW 1/5 SCALE

Yeah, you could be right. I thought for sure that the Traxas truck would take off. Perhaps HPI will fall in the same way.

Something to keep your eye on though. Personally I like the complicated...

RE: NEW 1/5 SCALE

I dunno Ken,

HPI are such a big presence already in the 1/8th scale world, I'm sure that there'll be plenty of people who'll transfer over to 1/5th scale, purely because of the brand name. They...

RE: Types of Large Scale cars/trucks?

Hi Mike.

Wouldn't know about the frmae sticking out. It doesn't look excessive to me, but then I'm not much up on buggies. I've seen pics with the front bumper on, and it looks pretty much like...

RE: Types of Large Scale cars/trucks?

Like a'this.

It's the same on the onroad car. Difference being that FG uses the top wishbone to adjust, but J&A uses the lower. Don't see any reason why it should be a problem, but it scratches...

RE: Types of Large Scale cars/trucks?

Dunno about the offroad, but my J&A onroad car has had the following upgrades, and I assume you can get these for the offroad too. Send james an e-mail and I'm sure he'd clue you in.

Alloy 12...

RE: THIS IS WHAT I WANT ALSO

Good god! that's a spicy meatball.

I'd kill for one of those. So where's the drive coming from? Is there a prop there, or is it a turbine on the back or something?

Those things really can...

RE: Tranny Whine

Traxxas as a company have been going for an age. My first car was a Traxxas! It's funny. I always thought everyone considered Traxxas to be synonymous with RC cars. It's the first name I think of.
