This topic not under RC AIRPLANES?

Why not? It seams to do with model airplanes more than with other models. I know it may not seam polite for a newbie to complain, but I bookmarked the RC Airplanes forum and had to look for this...

I see I've got 2 very close neighbors in this thread (I'm in Fontana). Yes, it is a LOT of rain for here. Maybe we will get twice as much this year as usual, but compared to other places it is not...

I'm 55, my son just turned 12. Southern California. I have nothing for this hobby yet. I am thinking of starting with a simulator, and a lot of reading, instead of a plane.

That G3 simm looks like it could teach a hell of a lot. If I was to get one it may be another 6mos. or a year until I could get the first plane for my 12 year old son. He says get the simulator...

I want to get into the hobby with my son, but know nothing about it yet. It seems like electric would be a lot easier to start with.

What are some good reasons to start with gas?
