RE: Mark/Moki Engine's

Dear all,
let me clarify a few things: The first series of the Moki/Mark 180 gas engines was shipped with a German-made ignition (manufactured by JWE). This ignition has a different logic than most...

RE: MOKI ENGINES

Hi Bill,
theoretically you can buy the Mark engines from me (I carry the 140, 180, 210, 360 alcohol versions and the 140, 180 and 360 gas versions, and I have a few of the .61 methanol engines...

RE: OS 300 Twin versus Saito 300 Twin

CorsairJock,
good luck with the engine. I also use a glow driver - Paul Telco's "TWIG" Intelligent Glowdriver (the newer version now is called AGS-2). It measures the temperature of the glow plug...

RE: OS 300 Twin versus Saito 300 Twin

Hi CorsairJock,
I've never tried a three-blade on my Saito, but the rule of thumb says that the 20x11.5 3-blade will correspond roughly to a 22x11 2-blade- which is a LOT of prop for the engine...

RE: MOKI ENGINES

Ringed or unringed - a philosophical question....

The ABC version probably has a slight power / performance advantage over the ringed version, HOWEVER, is more critical when it comes to thermal...

Hi Sonnich,
now it will get a bit complicated:

During the communist time in Hungary, the Hungarian Army established an institute for the development and research of model engines - in...

RE: OS 300 Twin versus Saito 300 Twin

Hi Tommy,
I have the single carb version of the Saito. I have been flying it a lot with an APC 20x10 wide blade, a Mejzlik carbon 20x10 as well as with an APC 22x8. With all these propellers I had...

RE: MOKI ENGINES

Hi Raybow,
the problem is, that the Moki 61 is out of production since several years. The engines from the last production run were bought up by several Moki/Mark resellers (amongst myself). I...

RE: Recommend airplane for Moki 210...?

Hi there,
5% Nitro will do fine. Use an O.S. "F" plug, and at least 17% synthetic or 20% castor. My favourite propeller is an APC 20x10, and I'm running a tuned pipe wit about 31" length (measured...

Hi guys,
I'm still around. :D

I have >10 M61 NIB on stock, all versions, i.e. ABC and ringed, as well as side or rear exhaust. @Raybow - which version are you looking for?

Happy...

RE: Moki/Mark G180 Gas Anyone flying this engine

...that's the newer, Hungarian ignition (in my mind better than the German JWE, as it supports higher revs).

The hose between crank case and pump is a clear, rigid piece of fuel tubing. The...

RE: Moki/Mark G180 Gas Anyone flying this engine

...which ignition box do you have - the German JWE or the Hungarian one?

On the carb issue - if you put your finger on the carb throat and flip the prop, the engine should be drawing the fuel...

RE: Moki/Mark G180 Gas Anyone flying this engine

...no, not really. It may be in case someone wants to set up the fuel line with access fuel flowing back to the tank. If your walbro has such a tube, try plugging it and see if the pumping...

RE: Moki/Mark G180 Gas Anyone flying this engine

It is true that this is a conversion of the glow...

unfortunately the situation is not as simple as it looks - the companies "Remek" and "Moki" no longer belong together. I don't want to go into painful details, but the Remek page is...

RE: Will glow plugs go bad with age?

... I would rather think that your fuel has gone bad. Methanol (the alcohol in our glow fuels) is very hygroscopic, i.e. it absorbs water (humidity from the air). I have plugs that are many years old...

RE: Newbee

Due to the characteristics of the NiCd-cells, a voltage reading of a battery pack without load is quite meaningless. Even a completely drained cell (0.8 Volts under load) will return to an idle...

Moki 1.8 Problems

What type of muffler are you using? Burning plugs can also mean you have too much backpressure in your exhaust system, or, if you are using a tuned pipe, the pipe is too short.

In any case fried...
