The reason for all the motors is the shaft size IMO.

If we could get this Turnigy motor (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=11174) or this Turnigy motor...

I just put a tiny hole in the front right at the nose. hole doesn't pick up enough water to be bad, and it's easy to drain when needed.

you could also put a little 1-way valve on the transom

Would it be possible just to machine little extensions like our thai friend did? just enough to get the impeller inside it so clearances are better

I'd purchase a whole set if it came with the ride plate, cooling plate, 3mm shaft, coupler, and the aluminum extension for the drive..i'd be willing to pay pretty handily for it also and have two...

The bushing right behind the motor is the one you'll want to replace with a bearing eventually. The bushing in the stator doesn't have enough material to replace with a bearing so it just has to be...

If you're using the stock impeller (2.3mm shaft) then the bushing will be fine, just grease it every once in a while and it'll be good to go. If you have a 3mm or 3.2mm shaft you will have to drill...

wouldn't it be better to keep the notch things in front of the prop to keep it from spinning? or do the bolts on either side hold it in place well?

Do you put the prop on the dremel and then while it's spinning use a file to get it down to size? kind of like a make-shift lathe?

Ah, I haven't used high-amp stuff. The ESC / motor will go before the connectors in my boat, and the only other electric stuff I've had is a 1/18th rock crawler =P (and micro-t's but those arent...

3 cells is all the jet drive will handle; 4 cells will spin the prop far too fast to make it efficient at pushing water through and will just churn up the water and create a lot of air bubbles
