RE: sig senior engine

Have had both a 4 stroke .56 and a 4 stroke .72 in mine. To me the .56 is a little more realistic power. The .72 was effortless.

RE: Thunder Tiger 120 Pro Pumped - Performance Issue

Decided I would delve into the engine and find out the reason today. Didn't take me long and should have found it the other day when I looked at the top of the piston. As it turns out had I not been...

RE: Thunder Tiger 120 Pro Pumped - Performance Issue

This one has excellent compression compared to the old one. I too, was thinking along the lines of the sleeve turning but the exhaust port lines up perfectly when I did the inspection while...

RE: Thunder Tiger 120 Pro Pumped - Performance Issue

Bearings are great. Smooth and quiet plus no black residue - only clear castor residue from the exhaust. Compression is significantly higher than the older engine that has better performance. Took a...

Thunder Tiger 120 Pro Pumped - Performance Issue

I have three of these TT 120 Pro engines. One side exhaust non-pumped, one side exhaust pumped, and one rear exhaust pumped. Have been running the side exhaust non-pumped for a couple years and...

RE: Saito 56 bearings.

It's pretty easy to look up the bearings yourself! You don't need anything more than the standard steel or at the most the stainless bearings.

RE: Re-ringing a Super Tigre GS-40

Actually what nailed this down for me was when I purchased a back-up engine and broke it in. I did the same day same fuel same prop tests and saw a few hundred RPM difference consistantly. Could feel...

Re-ringing a Super Tigre GS-40

By the end of the Club 40 season I noticed my little GS-40 was getting a little soft on compression. Whether it be the 15% Cool Power or hours of WOT operation it was starting to show a little less...

RE: Texas Club 40 Clone Raider

Are you going to bring the cowl cheeks in to the new dimension on your clone?

RE: Complete newb - very frustrated!

Ditto on the Cub not being a friendly beginning airplane. Would suggest a Trainer with a big wing similar to the Kadet Sr. to learn on. They are a blast to fly, make one of the very best float planes...

RE: GS-40 Piston ring

HI Bax, thanks, that is exactly how I did it. Have probably installed over a thousand or more on two strokes during my career so far and thats how we do it also. Look for the ring locating pin and...

GS-40 Piston ring

Bax, I have a GS-40 that I use in Club 40 racing. It is only a few months old. I noticed that the compression seemed to be falling off some and even though the engine is under warranty and I could...

RE: Why does my Kangke monocoupe 90a 1/5size fly like *rap?

Have been flying full sized aircraft for over 30 years now and some of what you are describing is fairly normal. Depending on airspeed, many high wing aircraft in a coordinated turn will want to drop...

RE: Sky Raider Mach II ARC and solid colors

From the looks of the cheeks am betting there is an increase in speed due to the reduction in induced drag. What is the measurement at the very front of the cheeks? One single MPH can make a diff. in...

V-Max .46...Anyone hear of this engine?

Was looking at a V-Max .46, which looks suspiciously like a K & B Screamin' .48. Anybody know anything about this engine?

RE: Goldberg Wild Stik

I picked one up at the $119 price and darned glad I did. No room in the hangar room to keep it so it will stay in the box until another plane meets an untimely and unfortunate demise.

RE: Tower 75

I think if you do a search that you will find an existing tachometer thread featuring this engine. This should shorten your search for the right props. The engine likes RPMs and seems to like the...

RE: Moki 1.35 problem

Mine did that as well after an extended period of not running it. I think the O-rings needed to swell back up and create a tighter fit. They should do that once exposed to the methanol for a bit.

RE: Phoenix Decathlon

I had one of these and powered it with a .46AX and it was a screamer! Very fast. I think the secret to this plane is to keep it light. You will hear many tell you to put a larger engine on it then...

RE: Break in for racen

I use the manual for break-in plus a little extra oil in the fuel. Broke mine in on a stand and just let it run and run. As far as stock class racing goes you know darn well the smoothest and most...
