RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Yes, the main gear just slides out of the fuselage by removing the 6 bolts that hold it in place, and the Robart nose gear just comes right off with little work. The floats themselves are held on by...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

It flies just great with the floats, handles like a trainer. Wind doesn't seem to bother it much either, but it has lots of power to compensate for the floats. I used the Sig 46" floats...they are...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Looking good!!! Brings back memories of building mine. I used a 1.20 4-stroke in mine because of the big floats, it also has on-board glow just to make it a little more reliable on the water. I...

RE: Which Sachs is this?

The seller is located pretty far from me so that's not really an option. I was hoping someone would recognize the engine quickly, if I can't determine what it is I will pass on it.

RE: Which Sachs is this?

Here is a side view....

I'm told it's a 5.8, I just want to be sure before buying it because anything less won't be enough power for what I need.

RE: Great Planes Seawind

Some people are going to be pretty upset about this. I'm using it off water only as well, so I don't really care. They need to clarify their product flier though....

RE: Top-Flite Cessna - Engine selection

I have a 1.20 in my Cessna, only the valve cover protrudes from the cowl. My Cessna is mostly for float flying so the 1.20 is not overkill if you ask me.

RE: Another GP Ultra Sport 40 + built and flown. Take a look.

Looks great!! I've been flying mine for a couple years now and still haven't gotten bored of it. I put a carbon fibre gear on mine to give me more prop clearance...I'm running a 14" prop

RE: Anyone flying or built the Twinstar?

If you want to stick with just two engines than I would go with two O.S. .32sx that would be a sick combo.

RE: Anyone flying or built the Twinstar?

Two .25 FX's are best.....more than that is overkill, but overkill is fun! I've got 3 .25 FX's on mine now...
