RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

Sorry to hear about the wheel pant but, I'm glad you had a successful day! It sounds like it flys like a Decathlon alright! Super at snap rolls I'll bet too! The rudder turns sound normal too. If it...

RE: Matt Chapman cap 580 .40 size

I'm about 150 mile from Nashville, only 50 miles from Memphis though... If you're in the neighborhood, yell at me and well get together! We can fly off asphault, concrete, short grass, not so short...

RE: Barbie Dies in Plane Crash!! (Pictures)

Actually, after witnessing several Barbie aviation fatalities, I have proof that the fault lies in an improper pre-flight inspection. Not once did I see anyone check the air pressure in Barbie's...

RE: Matt Chapman cap 580 .40 size

The 12.25-3.75 is perfect for 3D on the 50SX I've run this combo on a 40 Ultra Stick, Magic, Twist and a Funstar. Tons of thrust and quick spool up too! These planes are all lighter that the CAP 580...

RE: New Miss America P-51... I saw one today

Great job on the review Mike!:D

You sure did have a "directors eye" on the video. The music fits well, the fade from the prelude was just right and even the angle you put on the flag was...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

Comparison to my Global Super Decathlon...

The flight characteristic sound identical to my Global Decathlon except for the unlimited power thing. Mine came in at 6 pounds so that answers why...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

If the Rx and battery are in between the tank and the servo tray, try using plain old kitchen sink type sponges. Cut one to fit the bottom of the bay, cut the next one with holes to fit the Rx and...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

The ground plane thing has possibilities. The turbine guys use the Deans type antenna as well, but they've got a lot of metal and wiring. The boat guys use them too but, the water makes a good ground...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

Yep! HOOTER's the only person I know that still has a working 8-track besides myself. BUT! He has C.W. McCall's only hit, "Convoy" on it! I've seen and heard it. (He won't admit it but, he also has...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

I've done the "creative routing" thing on 3 planes and have never had a glitch on them. When I route the antenna, I make sure I keep it at different heights with the tubes. I don't know if that makes...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

The last time I routed an antenna "to length" I used some plastic pushrod tubes to guide the antenna forward on the port side, then across to the starboard side, then down to the bottom of the fuse...

RE: Lack of interest in WWI war birds ?

As all of you, I have a love affair with aviation but, like everybody else, I have my favorite type of planes. I like and am interested in the WW1 era planes and do wish there were more of them...

RE: What plane for Magnum 52 4-stroke?????

The Super Decathlon will perform nicely with a .52 as will the Super Sportster but.... if you want to get a little wild.... Get a Modeltech Magic. I've been flying mine with a .52 four stroke and an...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

I'm glad you didn't have a problem in the air with your transmitter. At a fly in yesterday, there was a similar problem with a 1/4 scale clipped wing Cub and the rudder went full left. The fellow...

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

Looking good! What size prop do you have on there and how much clearance is there for a tail up, main gear landing? I'm trying to figure out if I'll have problems with a 13 incher.

You should've...

Yep! A Staggerwing ARF .60 to .90 size with functional, high quality retracts and suspension, and plug in wings!! :D:D:D There's my vote! Heck, I'd even go for a 1.20 size! Who could resist???

RE: TT New Version Decathlon Build

Here's a couple of shots of my Global Super Decathlon for motivation... A nice low pass and the tail end of a knife edge....

I really liked this little plane. I lost it in a tragic, van door...
