RE: Groovy 3A 90

I had its smaller sibling, the Groovy 50. 2 words: Weak undercarriage. Apart from that, pretty nice plane.

There should be tons of threads here on RCU regarding the Groovy 90 though.

World Models Spot-On 50

Anyone have any experience with this plane as yet? Seems to be a replacement for the Groovy 50. Any one know how flight performance is? I'm interested in getting one but don't know if it will be...

Rudder servo ganging on 12Z

I have a Futaba 12Z and I can't for the life of me figure out how to gang 2 servos to work together for the rudder. I read the manual multiple times but couldn't figure it out. Could someone please...

RE: How to fix high Angle of Attack

Well, I finally got a chance to fly Groovy again this weekend. I adjusted the CG and moved it about 2/3" forward. As soon an I did that, the high AoA tendency was gone. The plane now flies as it...

RE: How to fix high Angle of Attack

I stand corrected, after looking at the pictures posted by Tall Paul, the AoA on Groovy is not 20 degrees. I would say its more like 10 degrees in normal flight and around 15 degrees during landing....

RE: How to fix high Angle of Attack

I haven't checked the weight of my aircraft since I don't have a weighing scale to weigh it. I'll look around the kitchen to see if I can find something to weigh it on. I believe that my model's...

How to fix high Angle of Attack

I recently test flew a World Model Groovy 50 3D. The plane flew well overall. However, the angle of attack during straight and level flight seemed excessive. You could easily see that the plane's...

RE: Needle setting for OS 55AX

Yes, I know when an engine is peaking, I use a tachometer for that. However, I thought that this engine would be close to the OS 46FX/AX in terms of needle settings since it is almost the same size....

Needle setting for OS 55AX

Anyone know what the optimum needle setting is for the OS 55 AX? The manual recommends 2-2.5 turns for starting which is more than what is recommended for the 46AX or 61FX. Thanks.

RE: Prop size for OS 55AX

Thanks ir, I'll try the 12x6W and see how it goes. Should give good verticals and fast speeds for the Groovy.

RE: Prop size for OS 55AX

Hmm.. based on these answers, if seems that I am underestimating the capabilities of the 55AX. A 12x6 seems too small for this engine. I think I'll do for the 13x6 as I would like to fly at a...

Prop size for OS 55AX

The OS 55AX is being advertised as a 3-D type engine capable of good torque at lower RPMs. I am planning on powering a Groovy 50 3D with this engine. I plan on using a MA 12x6 K-series prop. Fuel...

RE: Question about Master Airscrew props

Sowega Flyer,

How was the performance with the K-Series prop on the 2-stroke? I am planning on using the MA 12x6 K-Series on an OS 55AX for 3-D flying on a Groovy 50. Since they are wide blade...

RE: Groovy 3D 90.. Promising

I am in the process of finishing a Groovy 50 3D. The ARF quailty is awesome. I recently completed and flew the World Model's Tai Ji 90. That was probably the best quality ARF I have ever built. I...

RE: Trying to match engine to wingspan

The Swallow 90 will be too big for a 60 engine. The Lark does look nice but it seems really heavy for its wing span. The Flash on the other hand, looks to have a wing span that is too large for its...

Trying to match engine to wingspan

I own a OS 61 FX. I am looking to start pattern flying. I have a choice between a CMPro Lark 70 or a custom built Flash.

Lark 70

Wing span: 59"
Length: 58"

Flash...
