RE: Government intrusion in hobby flying

Sorry if I wasn't clear; but I agree with you. It's the FPV guys' interests/models that most overlap with non-hobby sUAS though, so they're the ones generating scrutiny of the hobby, IMO. If the...

RE: Government intrusion in hobby flying

To be perfectly blunt: 90% of the issue here is the emergence of FPV. The fact is that there are those irresponsible enough to put unmanned, FPV flown planes into situations they shouldn't be in, as...

RE: Great Planes F4U Corsair Parkflyer

I've built one up, but not maidened it yet. I've actually heard it flies quite well on the stock power system as long as you stick to sport/scale flying. My biggest area of concern (and of others...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Something doesn't sound right there. You should not be able to fully charge these 1000mah batteries in 4 minutes. They're designed to be charged at 1.5 amps (or less), not the 15 amps it would take...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

Success finally! (mostly)

Today I had two brief flights without serious incident. The only damage was some paint on the bottom of the cowl that rubbed off in the tall grass.

It flies with...

RE: park zone fw190 rtf

gsmith: It sounds like you're stalling on launch, to prevent that there's couple things you should think about. First: these models are not greatly overpowered (stock), so you need to launch them at...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

114 also seems to come w/ the fuse (described as a "motor mount")
117 comes with the tail + accessories
127 - I do need the rubber bands, but I'm not sure I need the exact ones from hobbyzone, so...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I've seen that; it's just not clear what parts I'd need and what I wouldn't.

Since I'd already have the electronics, motor and gearbox (from a pz FW190) I think I'd need at the following:

...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Is an ARF version of this plane being sold yet? If not, will it be?

If my PZ FW190 gets totalled, I'd like to move its electronics over to a SC for a bit more relaxed flying, but I don't see an...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

The extra weight is just a prop nut with a screw put through it. As far as I know, they don't sell the prop nut w/ screw separately, so we're stuck buying a second prop nut and finding a screw for...

RE: park zone fw190 rtf

tcarp: I can only imagine that the part called "internal structure" is the translucent plastic bit inside the fuselage that all the electronics, motor, and wing install onto. I can't imagine the...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

Well, I maidened last night; unfortunately I can't say she was very much fun this first time. Although the plane was balanced right-on according to the instructions, it definitely flew tail-heavy. ...

RE: park zone fw190 rtf

Update: Well, mine broke in exactly the same place the first time I landed it yesterday. I admit it was a bit of a hard landing though. It looked exactly like yours Heavy1000; that could be a...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

Alright, my replacement wing came, minus the decals, but everything was straight so I put it all together. I have a couple questions beforer I maiden the plane though:

First - how important is...

RE: park zone fw190 rtf

Just checked mine; it has that white tape in there too. No idea what its purpose is?

I haven't gotten to fly mine yet as the wing it arrived with was defective. I'll be an unhappy camper if...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

Maiden shouldn't be too far off for me now, once I get the new wing.

How does the plane fly on the low-rate set up as the manual instructs? Just doing a radio check, the elevator deflection...

RE: Connectors for Batteries, ESCs, Chargers, Motors

I don't see why you'd have a problem, as long as you're mindful of a couple things.

Don't short the battery at any time (ie cutting the leads together), and make sure the battery leads get the...

RE: August 2006 MA magazine

afineman: I just don't see that either; unless IC R/C is ever banned by law (god forbid), it will always be here. And I just don't see what the big deal is.

This hobby doesn't need to be a...

RE: August 2006 MA magazine

Now, I certainly don't have decades of experience in the hobby, but as a nitro flyer jumping back into the hobby after a break via an electric plane, I don't think you can fairly blame the E-flight...

RE: To all the PARK Fliers out there

I'd like to make a clarification before anything I said gets misinterpreted - I am not anti-club. I think that if you have a local club that welcomes e-flight, by all means go join up. Being a...

RE: To all the PARK Fliers out there

I have to admit, I have to remind myself to heed my own advice every time I visit the "other side" of this site and read the AMA forum. Like when I read things about how PFers aren't "lesser", we're...

RE: To all the PARK Fliers out there

I learned to fly in a club, on .40 nitro planes - pretty much the"traditional" way. Finishing college, getting married, and life in general got in the way of R/C flying for a few years.

Now I...

RE: ParkZone NEW FW-190 Butcher Bird

Anyone else have problems mounting their wing to the fuse?

On my kit the skid plate appears to have been attached to the wing off-center. Since the wing mounts to the fuselage via the 3 screws...

Is the tail wheel steerable?

Looks like a nice adaptation there, I'm curious to see how it works.

Kyosho ME-109 Issues

Hello All,

I have a Kyosho ME109 ARF that's a couple years old sitting new in the box, which I gather makes it the "old" version of this plane.

Before I really think about building it,...
