RE: RE: AFP or RFG2 for a non 3d'er (yet)

RE: AFP or RFG2 for a non 3d'er (yet)

Each sim has it's good and bad points. PERIOD!

I have flown a few sims and I sort of like AFP but it is not the real thing. That does not mean it (or any other) is not useful. But to say all top...

RE: Group photo of my AeroFly Pro aircraft inventoy so far ...

There are many, many scale sailplanes available not to mention the hotliners. The Discus, Foka, Fox, DG1000, etc. are some of the scale birds. Heck, you can ever aerotow.

RE: Group photo of my AeroFly Pro aircraft inventoy so far ...

Obviously you do not fly sailplanes as all of those are missing. There are many very excellent ones available including some hot electrics.

RE: AFP or RFG2 for a non 3d'er (yet)

I have no desire to "move up" to a TOC type plane but maybe I just haven't been around long enough.[8D]

I also do not understand exactly what is meant by "3D". If I fly a plane and do everything...

RE: Caution when upgrading to AFP exp pack#1

I think it flies rather well but then I am a fighter pilot.
Joking aside, it seems to be pretty good.

RE: Game Commander and AFP

Did you calibrate the GC under Windows??

Then you calibarte under AFP.

The GC is actually quite smooth. (IMHO)

RE: Caution when upgrading to AFP exp pack#1

The latest patch is 1684 and is available on the AFP website. I suggest you download it again and be sure you install it AFTER the expansion pack.

RE: AFP Downloadable Airplanes

www.rc-sim.de is probably the best place to get downloads for AFP. There are also links to other sites.

RE: Bungee length?

If you have never done a high start then there are a few things to know. The position of the tow hook is pretty critical. If you are a new comer I strongly suggest you put it at least 15-20 degress...

RE: AMA setting 200 mph limit for all R/C aircraft?

Several have questioned how it would be enforced but haven't seen an answer yet???

I'm against a speed limit but even more so against rules that aren't and/or can't be enforced. I seriously...

RE: AMA setting 200 mph limit for all R/C aircraft?

For those who wondered about speed records:
The F3A (piston engine) record is 343.92 kmh
The F3B (sailpane) record is 239.70 kmh

These are the official FAI records as of about 1 hour ago.

RE: Bungee length?

Use all of it.

I use 30M of rubber and 150m of line. I normally extent the rubber 3 times for full power. You did not say what the 2m plane is but be careful at first about using too much power...

RE: AMA setting 200 mph limit for all R/C aircraft?

That is the question!!

BTW, why do we want to limit the speed of turbines? (or any plane for that matter)
If it is suppose to be for safety reasons, maybe we would be better off requiring an...

RE: Were to buy Aerofly Professional

That is illegal!

That is one of the reasons the serial port cable is required; it is copy protection.

RE: Aerofly Professional ..... anyone??

A couple of comments:

The latest update is 1684 and should always be installed AFTER the expansion pack. XP usually will not work without at least the 168 update. The latest video drivers are...

RE: afp on windows xp

They can't perform brain surgery from afar without knowing the problem. Usually all they want is the data file from AFP and your hardware. Seems reasonable to me. BTW, I am running AFP with expansion...

RE: where is homepage??

THANKS!!

Not very logical but it is there. To me it belongs in "My Account" along with most of the other stuff. I guess I got lost when we shifted to the new format.

Anyway, thanks again.

RE: GP (gold peak) NiMH battery?

GP makes excellent batteries. For example, their GP 3300 Improved Red is hard to beat in both capacity and high amps. Try them, you'll like them.

Quality of Multiplex?

I see the Evo 9 syn advertised for around $500 US in the States.

It is about the same here in Germany and the Profi 4000 with scanner is around $1000.

As with all things, different strokes for...
