8FG won't power up

Hi All,

It seems as if the tx is not getting any power. Nothing happens when I turn on the tx. I tried charging the battery while it was in the tx and the light on the charger did not turn on....

Hi All,

I'm planning to use the engine backplate mount that comes with the GP viper for my Jett .56. There was a notice in the kit stating that 5-40 bolts are needed. That I should not use bolts...

Viper ARF or ARC?

Hi All,

Aside from the obvious covering question, could someone tell me if there are any advantages to the ARC over the ARF? I actually prefer an ARF right now as I have very little free time.

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Based on all (one) landing, its not all that hard to land this plane. Did I luck out on this first landing? Do I really even need flaps?

RE: 8FG Super vs 10CG

I think your best bet would be to post that sort of question in a forum specific to the kind of flying you intend to do. I've seen discussion in heli forums and high speed electric forums. The eight...

RE: 8FG Super vs 10CG

I think the 8fg and 8fg super are the same. Just the super is more recent s/w.

Are there specific functions that you need that are missing on the 7? I moved to the eight because for a brief...

RE: 8FG Super vs 10CG

The 8fg without a doubt. It is easier to program. Has more functions. Just take your time when you get it. And be sure you understand what each function really does. The throttle cut function is......

RE: 8FG Super vs 10CG

the 8FG programing is different. I have both. and it took me a fair amount of time to learn the 8fg radio. It's not really harder to use than the 7. but it is different. I had trouble with the...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Can someone please tell me where I can get a replacement for the front axle? I'm using the Roberts retracts. I guess I forgot the loctite. Sigh.

I did have one brief flight. But the engine was...

RE: 8fg Throttle cut... solved

All right... I finally had time to think this through. (Thanks Malcom).

Anyway... the root cause was my not understanding the difference between travel and limits. One is the normal endpoint....

RE: 8fg Throttle cut... solved

Thanks for the PMs guys. But no joy yet. I don't think the on/off menu (off off on switch selection) helps. Maybe I'm missing something. But it seems like this switch selection menu just "maps" a...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

[:@] Still no first flight. I'm using a new transmitter (Futaba 8 fg) and I can't get the throttle cut working right. The barrel opens when I turn on the throttle-cut. I can't see any way to change...

8fg Throttle cut... solved

Hi All

I need some help with the throttle cut function please.

Right now, if I activate the throttle cut, the servo moves the wrong way. That is the the carb opens more when cut is...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Thanks Krasherjack. No flying for me today. So the first flight will have to wait until Saturday. Hoping for some head winds so I won't have to worry about flaps on the first flight.

Flaps on...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Hi gang... this will be the first time I'm flying a plane with flaps. Is there any change in attitude when the flaps are deployed?

Also, are you all putting flaps on a switch or a slider?

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Thanks Jet-22. I think I'll try the first flight with a little camber. I really don't want to mess with the flap hinges. I may be able to finish tonight. I just have to set up deflections, check cg...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Hi Gang,

Has anyone had a problem with the flaps? It seems like it take a lot of force to flex them fully up. The servos seem to be working very hard unless I allow a bit of camber.

Also,...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Got it... I had to sand the center rib just a touch towards the front of the wing. Unfortunately, that was all the time I have this week. So the maiden won't happen this weekend. I just have to hook...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Hey Darryl, Thanks. I checked that. No Go. I think the center rib on one wing is either a bit too thick or has a tiny warp. I pushed the wing in place with a tissue between the fuse and rib. And the...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

My Roberts center very well. I think I did see a spring when I was installing. However, the nose gear does hang up on the on the cut-out. So I will have to enlarge the cut out a bit. A little...
