RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I flew three batteries at the park today, and boy does that canopy help orientation A LOT!! It makes it really easy to distinguish between the objects in the sky and the heli itself. It looks...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I've never had a problem with the gears or the one way bearing. I did replace them a few times, and some of them wobble more than others, but they all work, so I don't think it is a bid deal. If you...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

The main reason I would get a new motor would be for flight times. I only feel comfortable going 5 minutes with the medusa, and it does get really hot. So if the neu is really as good as they say,...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

Well that does explain it. I thought it was 3400kv like the medusa. I would definitely like to get one when they come out. NEU says they are coming early August, so I hope that means soon. :D

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

People are really getting 3000 with an 11t on this neu motor??? I only get like 2760 with my 13t on the medusa motor!

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

Why would you want to run smaller? Do you mean less teeth, like 8 or 9? I am currently running an 11tooth pinion on the medusa with a 3.17mm shaft.

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

Ok I'll hold off my horrible buying compulsion :D
Also, I noticed they offer the motor with a 2.3mm shaft and a 3.2mm shaft. The pinions I have are all 3.17 and all the ones on helidirect are 3.17...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

Yes the motor does get hot. I am using an old heatsink from my blade cp motor, and it takes off a lot of the heat. From what I've read, this motor for 80 is not a bad price. The JGF will give you...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

Trumpet, why don't you try my motor (Medusa 28-40-3400)? It should have more power than the other medusa you tried (which was smaller).

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I have the medusa MR-028-040-3400. The motor feels better than it has in as long as I can remember. It could be that the mesh between the gears is better (because I had to mount the motor again), but...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

YAY I got my motor in the mail today! Medusa replaced the motor shaft and bearings for me, and it works great now. I'm happy :D

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I've been using the trex flybars (either 200 or 220mm, I forget) for a while on my HDX and it works flawlessly. Right now my HDX is grounded until Medusa sends me back my motor, which I sent in for...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

My headspeed is about 2700-2800 I believe. My pitch curve (normal mode) is: 42, 45, 50, 75, 100 and throttle (normal mode) is: 0, 55, 75, 90, 100
Your mileage (errr headspeed) may vary. :D
Oh and...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I have flown one flight with each so far. I like them both a lot, but when I first flew the red the canopy was vibrating too much so I was just hovering. I have since fixed it by cutting out just a...

RE: Official HDX-450 Thread

I'm using an 11tooth pinion on my hdx but I'm using the high power medusa motor. It works great and is quite stable. But I don't know what motor you have, so your mileage may vary.
