RE: EMS Jomar gear door sequencer

The retracts don't have a separate power supply. They run off power from the receiver. I have a 10amp adjustable bec I'll be using. I may just run it at 6.6 volts since i tested it with a LiFe pack...

RE: EMS Jomar gear door sequencer

Thanks for the link. I have tested it on the bench at 6 volts. It took some adjustment of the gear delay pot but it does work with some delay still left in the adjustment. I would like to run the...

EMS Jomar gear door sequencer

I'm starting on a TF Corsair and will be using Wingspan retracts with full gear doors. My electronics are all HV and I would like to run the system at 7.2 volts since that is the max for the...

RE: 1/8 scale TopFlite Corsair Mods

Thanks for the info on the retracts. I'll probably go with Robart and oleo struts. I have an OS 75 AX I can drop in and wouldn't have to cut the cowl. I'll see how it goes.

RE: 1/8 scale TopFlite Corsair Mods

I have this kit on the shelf and will be starting it shortly. I am getting items together and wondered if anyone has looked at the ESM retracts for their 74" Corsair and if they could be fit into the...

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

I love this plane more with every flight. So far the stock gear are holding up. Our runway is pavement so that is probably why. Converted my Futaba 9c to 2.4 with the FrSky module. This allowed me to...

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

Well the maiden went very well! 2 clicks down and 1 click left had it flying great. What an incredible flying plane! It's my new favorite. The DLE 55 ran good. A little fat on the low speed but still...

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

Ready to do the maiden flight in the morning. Fired up the DLE 55 for the first time today and it just didn't seem to be pulling hard at all. I went to check all the bolts after the first run and...

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

Since the wing bolts are such a pain I was going to loctite a stud into the wing and use a wingnut with a washer on the inside. It works well on my edge 540.

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

I got around to getting some work done today. I used Locktite Sumo poly glue on the hinges. It foams up about half of what Gorilla does. It seems to be denser and is supposed a lot stronger. I only...

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?

Just ordered mine today. $420 to my door isn't too bad. Got a DLE 55 for the front. Plan on getting a cf tube and reinforcing the gear mount and stab mounting area. Now to figure out how to hide it...

RE: The Goldberg Ultimate biplane...is dead.

The nice thing about this plane is that it flys well with wide variety of engines. I had 2 with ST90's 1 with a YS120 and my current one with an OS 120 AX. it's easy to setup for your personal...

GP Ultimate or GP Pitts M12?

I have a DLE 55 on the shelf waiting for a home and I have narrowed my search to one of these 2 planes. I have gone through all the threads regarding each but still can't decide. I love flying my...

RE: And another CG Ultimate Build

Most of my issues were with the fuslage sides and wing saddle doublers. The older kits were die cut not routed. Everything fit together much tighter without much sanding or altering. Nothing that...

RE: And another CG Ultimate Build

The first 3 I built were from Goldberg. This last one was from Hobbico or who last cut the kits. I'm glad I built the plane before because this latest kit is not the best quality. Some of the wood is...

RE: And another CG Ultimate Build

I think I was using 15-8 APC. If your putting servos in the tail you may end up with your battery forward. Leave your options open. I hate adding lead to a plane and like to use the equipment to...

RE: And another CG Ultimate Build

I never weighed the the last one with the YS120. I did put the servos just aft of the lower wing and made a hatch that fit the cutout in the bottom of the fuselage. The tank was moved back over the...

RE: The Goldberg Ultimate biplane...is dead.

Paco,
there are a couple good build threads. One was by TWN. In my opinion the 2 areas that must be reinforced are the tabs on the wing ribs and fuselage where the cabane struts attach. There are...

RE: And another CG Ultimate Build

I took the cabane struts off after sheeting. It's tight but can be done. Makes finishing a lot easier. My first 2 had ST 90's. Flew good. The YS 120 was great. The OS 120 AX should be insane!...

RE: The Goldberg Ultimate biplane...is dead.

Paco,
even with easy flying a standard nylon gear servo is not enough on the elevator. If you use one for each side they would work for easy flying. I would suggest something like a hitec 625 or...

RE: The Goldberg Ultimate biplane...is dead.

Paco,
If you are going with a single servo on the elevator please use something with more torque than the 3001's. I lost my second Ultimate because I was using a single standard type servo. I now...

And another CG Ultimate Build

I thought i would post a few pictures of my current build. This is my 4th time building this plane. The first one was built in '88 and the last one flew for over a dozen years before being retired. I...
