I don't use the stock ESC, that fried on day 1 hour 1. I have the Dynamite Tazer T12 which is supposedly rated to handle anythign from 12 up(12,13,14,15,etc,..) I have a trinity speed gems 12t double...

my motor in question is a trinity speed gems 12t double modified motor. I tried to get different small gears but the hobby shop sold me the wrong pitch gears :(

I haven't driven but a few quick spurts to see if it even worked. It's on my shelf again til I can troubleshoot the ESC overheating.

afraid I can't help with any input as my truck is broken again. Probably the motor. It powers up just fine, turns fine, but doesn't go, even in the air. Stock motor will be put back in soon

It doesn't spin absolutely freely. You have to use just a little pressure to turn it.

i've not broken anything on the truck yet (crossfingers). My new 20t motor however is super hot with stock gearing. How is you guys are using the 17t without the motor being way past too hot to touch?

whats a 'batter'? You mean battery? I'm currently using radio shack 7.2v 3300 batteries. I know with a brushless setup you'd want to go lipo.
