Your engine is probably fine. Keep in mind that even after engine break-in, the engine is still new. The piston ring still hasn't created a really good wear pattern, and everything is still tight...

Rich or lean can foul or burn a plug.

If its too lean, the engine will be getting hot. Little or no smoke from the exhaust.
If the engine is running rich, you will see a good trail of smoke...
