Go with that motor but keep in mind the airplane is tailheavy so the more weight you can get in front of that wing the better. I would go 3-4 cell lipo if he wants it to go straight up! Mine almost...

The plane is controlled by Spektrum and uses a Turnigy 3635 outrunner and 30A esc. I am getting over a half hour of flight time on a Turnigy 2200 3S battery and unlimited vertical to get to glide...
