What a pain it was to fit this. Works great though, motor never gets hot even with fast gearing in the sun.

You should max out at 8.4v for both cells, 4.2v each. If you are reading 5v on each cell... I hope it's not inside your house, you know?

You can get a set of Dirt Hawg I tires and hpi mesh rims for about $35. This tire is really more street and it's a little smaller.

I decided to resurrect my old E Firestorm 10T. The prices on brushless have come down a lot in the years since I stuck this on the shelf. Took out the stock brushed and AM radio. Put in an X Car 120A...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

RC cars get boring fast. Only 2 axis and one orientation.

I have been taking a breather. Got pissed off because of 3 crashes back to back due to equipment failures. I have also been putting in a...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Heeeyyyyy I got some main shafts in. Gonna have to patch up the EXI and try to get a flight in soon. Of course it's raining and windy all week. I'll fly that ***** in the dining room if I have to.

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

I have decided to chill until my main shafts arrive. It's been really windy here to, so it's all good. Gotta shake the jinx. Wait, that sounds dirty...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

I know what you mean crash. After using a cf boom I will never go back. My alloy booms always get crimped by the boom block. CF booms also seem to survive minor crashes better.

Grawl, I have...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Haha crash, the boom was just delaminated on one end. I don't really want to put a new boom on this til I figure out what's wrong. I actually have another cf boom and four alloy booms in the parts...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Haha I had to take a day off to get my zen back.

I was able to assemble a head from the two crashed heads so that's together. I used some epoxy to repair the split on the cf boom. I'm sure I...

RE: Micro 3D options

If I were you I would get one of these. And here's some CF blades. I was looking at these and it would be cheap to build up. Everything is so small.

Edited: changed heli link.

RE: ezrun brushless

I am running my 10T system for all it's got now. I installed a cooling fan and geared it up to get more power.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Thanks. No temp gun but the motor is only getting warm now instead of very hot. I already have a 30mm fan on the ESC, so I should be good for the hot Florida summer.

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Prolly a brownout or bad elevator servo. The heli literally dove into the ground right in front of me. This is the worst damage I've had from a crash. The flybar, feathering shaft and main shaft are...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I took some pix of my project today. I have an EZ Run 10T system on my FS. It's kind of tame on 2S lipo, so I have been using 3S lipos. These are fast but the motor gets hot after 10 minutes.

I...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Finally going to get some sky time in today. The ESC came in and I completely revamped the EXI. HW Pentium 40A ESC (new), Suppo 3600 motor (repaired, bad bearing) and AR 6100E RX (repaired, loose...

RE: RC helicopter gyro as drift control system on E Firestorm

What kind of gyro? Sounds like it might be in head holding mode. You want it in rate mode.

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

There's two more models of the EXI Standard now. A cheaper one with a plastic swashplate and a more expensive one with metal blade grips. No change on the cheap tail, they really should have added it...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

I got my DX6i back from Spektrum already. I sent it Priority on April 22nd. I had the rudder trim replaced and battery door replaced. I said it seemed to be glitching (ahem) and they installed new...

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects

Thanks. The trick is to get plenty of light. These were shot under the trees on a sunny day. Don't even try to shoot inside unless you've set up some lighting. (Not the flash.)
