RE: Now Im Scared

RE: SO how many of you fly in you backyard

I would love to get my hands on one of the new JR SS radios. $199.00 with flight pack! Wonder if it's any 'count?

RE: SO how many of you fly in you backyard

I practice my hovering in the front yard. I live WAY out in the boonies, at least 8 miles from the local RC club. I do my serious flying at the RC field.

Just wondering though, has anyone ever...

RE: RC Helicopter Tech Needed

Thinking about volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club to start a model airplane building and flying class. There's no way that most of those kids can afford to drop $500.00 into this hobby. I've...

RE: RC Helicopter Tech Needed

I got my start with one of those little AM park flyer/ glider things. I never new a RC club existed in my area until a friend took me out there to the field one day. I now have my AMA, club...

RE: RC Helicopter Tech Needed

I live in a county where the "elitist's" basically caused a club to split into the "electric crowd" and the "glow and gas crowd". Instead of trying to help the new and interested, they turned up...

RE: HiTec Eclipse 7vTransmitter setup confusion

Thanks again Credence, you are a wealth of knowledge! Seems like everytime I have a half-baked question, you have an answer! Now I'm ready to run home and get it in the air again! This has been...

RE: HiTec Eclipse 7vTransmitter setup confusion

What I've been trying to do - this may be my problem - is to use that right switch to stop the motor in the forward position, and spool up the motor in the rear position. However, flipping this...

HiTec Eclipse 7vTransmitter setup confusion

I've gotten a bit confused with the set up of my Eclipse 7. I've changed a few things with my Eco8, and decided to get out of "beginner" mode. I want to set up as things should be, but I'm a bit...

RE: Best beginner heli

I never had much luck with micro fixed pitch helis, they're awfully squirrly! I went to an ECO 8 and love it, but parts are not cheap! Compared to the little Piccolo and Dragonfly, it practically...

RE: wanna see the inside of a lipo?

I'll tell my story! I was flying a ModelTech Magic with a 12-cell nicad pack and the BEC on my speed controller went bad! The plane climbed straight up for about 300 feet, then quit and fell like a...

RE: How much "hold" for a heading hold gyro?

It's an ECO 8 - I guess I should have mentioned that.

RE: How much "hold" for a heading hold gyro?

Sorry, it's a RCE-500 from Align (I think it's by the same people that make the T-REX).

RE: How much "hold" for a heading hold gyro?

I think it's made by GWS - it's not an expensive gyro, only $80.00, and it's very small. I hope I didn't buy it and regret it later.

How much "hold" for a heading hold gyro?

I replaced the standard gyro with a heading hold gyro last week (first heading hold gyro i've ever used). I have fiddled' with the gain on the gyro and transmitter, but I get a little drift in the...

RE: Best Electric Helis on the market

Look at the Ikarus ECO 8 too! If you don't mind slightly more expensive replacement parts, it is an excellent heli, and it's in your budget. Go for the brushless and lipo's. It is a larger heli,...

RE: How do you hold your transmitter poll?

...and a neck strap in case I have to take off runnin' so I won't be tempted to toss it - if the heli comes after me!

RE: How do you hold your transmitter poll?

Ha, Ha
I use a "pinch" on the right stick, and a thumb only on the left stick! How's that for compromise? Just feels natural that way!

RE: Eco 7,8,16???

I really don't like the setup of the ECO 7. I've never liked any of the "all-in-one" controllers. I preffer to pick and choose components, that way I can use the best that I can afford, and repair...

RE: OH MY >>>>WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOR*(R@#YUR*&($Y&*#@$^&*

If they did that on purpose, they have money disposable cash than I do! Next time they want to get rid of a helicopter, maybe they'll just call me, I'll take it off there hands and I won't even...

RE: Beginner’s question

Right! Like jh4db536 said, no need to control throttle after the rotors spool up, you will only be changing pitch with the left stick - anything above center is "positive" pitch, which makes you...

RE: Beginner’s question

Because God only gave us two arms! This is the way it is done...no need to reinvent the wheel. Later, you'll use one of your knobs to fine tune the throttle and one to fine tune your pitch (if you...

RE: n regarding a

Probably everyone here would say that "small and beginner friendly" do not belong in the same sentence together as far as helicopters are concerned.

You might look into the Eflight Blade for a...
