RE: Brushless Setup for Flying Wing

Check ebay and look for a brushless motor in the 2000kv to 3000kv range, you should be able to pick up a nice outrunner for less than $25 shipped to your door. I also recommend you get at least a...

RE: My informal review of the A-tech XMT4 1/18th scale Mini Truck

The stock electronics seem really good and the pack never even got warm after an hour of play. The car still had plenty of power after running over an hour, I've never had an electric run for more...

RE: My informal review of the A-tech XMT4 1/18th scale Mini Truck

I picked up one of these trucks today and it runs great. I didn't have any problems with parts popping out even after some hard hits and jumping things in my driveway. This little truck will run...

RE: Walkera #10

The new dragonfly looks like it has different blades, particularly at the blade root. It looks like they could pivot much further than the older version. I'm thinking about modifying my blade roots...

RE: Walkera #10

squadri,

No need to cut the body, I just fit the two halves in place with needle nose pliers and tacked them down with CA glue. When the heat sink is cut in half it’s no longer symmetrical,...

RE: Walkera #10

Check out the latest upgrade:

I took a motor heat sink, cut it in half, smeared some thermal paste on the inside and CA glued each heat sink half onto both motors. The results were significant,...

RE: Walkera #10

I just placed an order for a dragonfly #10 and was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting heat sinks on the motors to help keep them from overheating?

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Ashmanarion,

Odorless CA glue is foam safe and has provided me with the strongest bond when repairing my AA. This is what I've used to permanently mount my motors. Most local hobby shops stock...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Barry2,
The slowest flyer is a tie between the large sirius glider with flaps and elevator cut into the wings and the stock AA. I flew the glider outside when it was calm today with a dime added...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

critterhunter,

I haven’t visited this thread in a while, but I just saw your post. To answer your question about the biplane, I picked it up at the local hobby shop. The biplane flies ok but...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Here's the larger version, I’ll have to test both and see which one is best suited for the r/c equipment.

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

I just placed an order for two sirius gliders, couldn't hold back the temptation.

I remember flying them outside when I was a kid and tweaking the flaps and elevator to get the smoothest and...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Yep. Nothing beats a $2 dollar ARF.

Here's another glider that should make a great conversion: http://store.yahoo.com/explorestore/siriusglider.html

I think I had a few of these sirius...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Here's my latest adaptation:

Its a Guillows biplane glider, both wings have been fiberglassed for added strength.
Wind handling characteristics are better than the foam bipe and it flies...

RE: RichModels Works LTC ARF's

I've been thinking of picking up one if these kits and setting it up as a twin. What I plan on doing is to modify the nose to accept a norvel .25 and place another .25 in the tail. These two...

RE: Wal-mart foamie as first plane: some questions

Some tips from my walmart foamy experiences:

- Make an engine pod above the main wing using ply wood, paint it or put a thin coat of epoxy over it to fuel proof the wood
- before hacking up...

RE: Looking for a twin.074

I've been entertaining the idea of building a canard (inline) twin. It would only require some minor modifications to some existing ARF kits to install an engine into the front fuselage.

Here's...

RE: Max speed from a generic chinese .52 engine

From what I've heard Clarence Lee is bad to the bone when it comes to model engines. That .48 must have gone under the knife in order to run with your jett, that muffler couldn't be the only mod.

RE: Max speed from a generic chinese .52 engine
