RE: Ravager... Possible racer?

Years ago, I had an OFNA 9-5 pro (which is similar to your Ravager). Raced it and had fun. However, the day I replaced it with a Hyper 7 I knocked 2 seconds off my lap times.

Enjoy it, but...

RE: what diff oil in hyper7 ??

It depends upon which kind of center diff you have. If it is a spider diff, I would run 5, 5, 2 or 5, 5, 3. If it is a standard diff, then go with 5, 7, 2-3. If it is a torsen then 5 in front, 2-3...

RE: Receiver and crystal question

Probably not. Hitecs and Futabas interchange but I think the shiftmay bedifferent for a JR. Also the crystal may not physically fit.

Finally - LST2 finishes a race!

Have a love/hate relationship with my LST2. Seems like everytime I race it I break something and end up with a DNF. Last time it was steering arms and a turnbuckle.

So, I decided to re-work it...

truggy tires on an LST2 for racing

For racing, would switching to 17mm hubs w/ truggy size tires give better performance/handling than the really wide 420 Crimefighters?

RE: What should I expect from the Go Tech 3 Port Race Turbo?

I use a JP-2 on my Go 3 port race. It already has tons of low end power, so I picked this one to boost mid and high end performance. Go's are not for everyone. They can be finicky (sp?) and...

RE: eBay purchasing

Please ignore most of the previous advice. The ONLY way to pay the least amount on eBay is to use auctionsniper (from auctionsniper.com). With this, you input the maximum you are willing to pay and...

RE: upgrades to ofna 9.5 to make it competitive?

I had an OFNA 9.5 pro with a PBS rear at one point. For club racing, I would just add high torque servos for both steering and brakes.

Any other upgrades would be a waist of money for this...

RE: Break-in?

The Losi comes with a Mach 427, which is a nice, user friendly sport engine....not a high end racing motor.

If that is what you have, use the instructions that came with it and don't worry.

RE: Anyone going to Motorama?

I'm going....but have registered to race a Monster Truck- Losi Lst2 - not one of my buggy's or electrics. The Lst2 is easier and more forgiving to drive. I am no threat to win...I know another guy...

RE: Have LST2-what to get next 8 buggy or Truggy?

Would go with the buggy.....it will help improve your driving skills, since it will require more finese to get it around the track.

RE: Thinking of buying Losi 8ight

Agree 100% with Kaiman. Would add that you should also take into consideration a) what the other people at the local track are running and b) what the local hobby store sells parts for.

RE: Pre heating an engine advise!

I agree with Brett. Try using a hair dryer first. Better to use as little heat as necessary. You should be able to get it to a working temp without melting your lines or your gaskets.

RE: Pre heating an engine advise!

You are in Canada. It's cold up there. Don't store the engine in the garage...keep it inside until you are ready.

Wrap the cooling fins in tin foil. Hold the gun a few inches away, depending...

RE: what kind do you like the best....and what do you have

Someone really dug into the archives to bring this thread back, but here goes....

Losi LST2
Ofna Hyper 7
Ofna Hyper 8.5
Team Associated T4 (2)

Great Planes Sportster 45
OV10-Bronco...

RE: Jammin pipe

Actually, yes. However, I think a lot depends on the motor. They won't turn a sport motor into a racer. But, if you have a performance engine you can use these to get the best out of it for your...

RE: Drive cup removal

Probably rusted on. Spray with WD40 and let it sit for a bit....then tap it loose with a hammer.

Or, if the bearings are still good. Put the locking screw back in and just leave it.

RE: LST2 motor temp?

310 is hot. Mine runs at about 230. You should see some smoke. Running wide open for extended periods of time is hard on a motor. It needs to be extra rich to compensate.

PS. My guess is...

RE: Better Race buggy Ofnas LX1 RTR of Hyper7 black RTR

Have owned both. No decision....the Hyper is a better racer. Lots of upgrades available, too.

RE: need new engine !!!!

Buying used engines on eBay is a crap shoot. I bought a number of them over the past few years, about half of which were bad or worn out (even though the seller said they "ran strong" or had "just a...

RE: New Motor for XRay XB8

Would suggest a Mach 427...which will cost less than $200. This is the stock engine for both the Losi LST2 and Eight. Horizon Hobby sells it for $145 plus $20 for a pull start.

Lots of low...

RE: Will a Hyper 8 bodyshell fit a Hyper 7

Yes, but buy a new one, since you will have to drill different rear post and antenna holes. I attempted to upload a picture of a hyper 7 with an 8 body on it. In this case, I mounted the rear post...

Transponder mount

Just got an AMB transponder for my LST2, since the track I run at has indicated that they may not offer loaners anymore.

Am looking for creative ideas as to where to mount it.

Thanks.

RE: is the hyper 7 strong?

Different chassis, servo tray, braces, motor mount, radio box and more. Lighter and more nimble. But, the 7 is still a good buggy, too.
