I noticed that SIG now has a 1/5 scale J-3 Cub kit, which they label their "anniversary" Cub kit. Their web site says the kit has loads of scale Cub details. Does anyone have any experience with this...

RE: Which Alpha model?

I have flown the alpha Corsair for the past 2 years. Wonderful on the recommended brushless/li-po set up.

Looks great in the air.

I get a lot of compliments on it.

Also have the...

RE: Great Planes Spectra ARF

I flew a Spectra ARF as my first sailplane a couple years ago. I used the stock setup. It flew fine here in Wisconsin, but it is definitely underpowered. (Stock motor and esc with 7 cell battery)....

RE: Just Ordered Hobby-Lobby Zip HLG, any thoughts?

I flew a Zip last summer. I didn't like the wooden fusealge boom, and eventually replaced it with a Great Planes Fling hand launched glider. The ZIP flew OK, but I like the way the Fling flies better.

RE: Skeeter Build from DU. Pictures

Hi Evol,

I flew mine in a gym in Wisconsin Rapids last week Friday. It flew very nicely, but it's very fast. After some trimming, I was able to make a nice 10 minute flight with a perfect...

I Was Too

I was nervous about launching my Alpha Corsair too. I upgraded to a brushless/li-poly combination. I'd hand-launched electric sailplanes with conventional motors before, and assumed the Carosair...

RE: High Start Newbie-Questions

You're right, I should have given more details. Here they are:

I'm flying a 2 meter Spirit ARF. Skybench says the surgical tubing is 1/8"X1/8"X40 feet, with 210 feet of braided line.

One...

RE: DWE, or smallrc.com

I just ordered a "Lil Skeeter" combo from DWE and received it within 10 days. I'm sure their operations are back close to normal.

Hobby Lobby's Alpha Models-Experiences?

I've been watching the videos on Hobby Lobby's site of the "Alpha Models" series of ARF scale park fliers. They're mostly WWII fighters, e.g. an FW-190, F4U, LaGG 7, YaK 3.

They look terrific...

RE: Any Top Flite P-39 kit builders out there?

I built this kit 4 years or so ago. We fly from a rather rough grass field, so I couldn't include retracts and I didn't need flaps. In other words, I just built a simple "4-channel-sport-scale"...

RE: World mocels ME 109 ????

Hi,

Actually, Im probably the guy who sold it to you. I think I was wrong in calling it a World Models ME-109. I had both the Modeltech 109 ARF and the World Models 109 ARF. I was mixing up...

RE: Great Planes 40 Piper Cub ARF w/Saito .91 4-Stroke

Sprocket1-

How did you fit the smaller Tower .46 into the ARF-supplied motor mount? I wanted to use an OS .46 FX on my cub, but I can't get the motor mount arms close enough to fit the mounting...

RE: PT40 Wing Mod-Do It!

Three or four members of our club have built a straight wing for the PT-40 and have turned a good though docile trainer into a pretty nice sport airplane. Nice thing is if you keep the original wing...

Estes Centurian

Estes has something called the "Centurian" which is an RC ARF rocket glider. Requires a 2 channel radio. Wingspan is about 30 inches, if I recall.

You can find it on their web site, and at tower...

I Recommend the Top Flite P-39

I Recommend the Top Flite P-39. It has a 65 inch wingspan, and is plenty big enough for your .90 surpass. It has a tricycle landing gear, which you are used to using. It was my first "larger than .40...

RE: Some Q's on Top Flites Spitfire Gold Edition Kit

RE: Top Flite P-39

I love this kit. It was my first warbird for an engine larger than .40-.46 size. I have flown my TF P-39 for 3 years. Since it was my first, I decided to go with a fixed gear, and no flaps. In other...

RE: What's a good stable first war bird?

Orbit-

If you want something larger than a trainer, and you want to build a kit (not an ARF), I recommend building the Top Fluite P-39 with fixed gear. I realize this might sound sacrilegous to...
