RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Thanks, Harry; you'll recall I had a gyro glitch too (see a few posts back). Interesting that they suspect vibration from the data. Do you think it's worth me sending my log file to their support...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Thanks Harry for the update - will be interested in Wea's feedback.

Was discussing my similar gyro glitch and other odd Wea issues with David Gladwin at a very windy Classic Jets today and he...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Here's my recent .nav file (you'll need to rename it .nav) for gigacontrol 2.56 showing the gyro glitch at 290 seconds in, in case anyone's interested!

Cheers, Andy

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Thanks, Harry, two very good guides!

I'm still thinking about our 'gyro glitch' and the possibility of disabling / enabling the receiver's internal gyro on a transmitter switch. I may well be...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Hi Harry,

That's really spooky; I had EXACTLY the same issue (as Geoff said) at Merryfield on my first flight of the day - after a couple of initial circuits, a sudden left roll (I thought I'd...

RE: Powerbox iGyro

There's a shed-load of information about GPS accuracy on the net; here's a typical example:

"GPS accuracy
Although GPS receivers give you exact positions—for example, 34° 28' 18.8765"N,...

RE: Powerbox iGyro

Hmmm, can't really agree with that logic Dave; reception geometry with satellites - even with the receiver seeing several at a time - will never give accurate vertical position or (hence) vertical...

RE: Powerbox iGyro

As with all Powerbox stuff I'm sure it'll be a winner, but I'm intrigued how the GPS/gyro gain will compensate in big vertical manoevers, where the GPS can't be expected to give an accurate...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Just to add some weight to Harry's GPS anomaly issue; he'll know that I see the same occasional 'out-of-position' plots when transferring the file to Google earth. In fact, there is normally an...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Alan,

I asked Alwyn about the english voice file at last September's Jet Power meet and he said 'next month.....'

I bought the vario unit at the same show from their Italian rep. on the...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

ERAYSA, Thanks for the information; let's hope things improve, but I think nowadays we SHOULD expect excellent customer service 'outside the US' (If that's what you mean). I'm british, but have lived...

I’ve completed some early flights with my Eurosport and Micro 12 / GyroIII setup; the log information is proving extremely valuable. Confidence in the RF link is high, and I’ll try to post here a...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

Yes, I was using the USB-to-mini USB cable. I have the 'dongle' cable for the Rx. Not sure how I could have used the dongle on the Tx, Oli - how would the plugs fit?!

All solved with Alan and...

Thanks, Lads - just what I needed!

I feel a bit embarassed to ask this stuff but figure it best to confess to stupidity rather than get more bogged-down. Thank goodness for this forum; I doubt...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

I already had v2.5 with my Tx/Rx combo (DV4) so perhaps I should update to v2.56 before I fly my system, but despite downloading the v2.56 suite of programs I can't get the update to work. I'm using...

RE: Weatronic 2.4 RF diagnostic tool

I was at Jet Power too, and hoped to get a more favourable impression of the weatronics team - from the viewpoint of customer service. I'm a 'new' user and am still at the initial 'playing /...

RE: Flight controls power requirements and servo sizing

Oli, I just put my results together in a long worded post and lost it all when I posted it! It would be easier for me to post the updated spreadsheet extract, but I can't figure it out. How do you...
