RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Patryn,

The EXI plastic version of the 500 that Xheli sells is something I also have looked at. The plastic really isn't all that much.

For the head, you'll want to replace the mixing arms...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hi Dave,

I am planning on getting the 500 this year, have to give it some time though since I just got the Tarot Pro in January - think I went over my quota allowance for the time being. :D

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Yep, those motor magnets will get ya every time!

One thing to remember with the clones is you will have to replace certain parts with authentic Align parts to get things up to par. For example,...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hi Patryn,

If you are considering a 450 kit I saw a post in the trex forum where a guy was doing a build thread on a clone he got: see Here.

Looks like the heli link is Here.

Mind you...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Oh, I think I got you know.

The feather thin washers - head dampening shims right? Yeah, there a bit of a pain if you drop them. You probably will want only 1 per side to start. The more you...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hi Patryn,

If you are referring to the step washers that go against the grips in the head, actually it has nothing really to do with tolerances and the feathering shaft being made too long.

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

The only thing good about crashes are... um... well... still thinking - nothing! :D

Although you do get comfortable with tearing down and rebuilding. :)

I've had my new 450 Pro for a...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Aw come on now, I've heard if your not crashing your not flying! :D

Actually, I went through a phase where it seemed each time out I was having to do some type of rebuild when I got home. Glad...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hey Patryn,

Best way to wind up in the ER is to drink alot and then see how close you can get to those CF blades!! :D You may want to try to put some colored tape on the end of one blade and...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hi everyone,

Patryn,

great to hear that all your parts came in, although some washers were missing - someone's messing up with QC controls. :) I always keep all my screws and step washers...

Hi all,

Everything's cool between Dave and I so were letting bygones be bygones, now back to the discussion at hand!

Patryn,

Dave - hope you got my PM and things are a bit more clear now.

Really didn't mean to cause a commotion. [:o]

And as a side note, I hope none of us ever have to experience the...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

For a CPP2 I just eyeball the swash and get it as close to level as possible.

If you don't mind waiting for a leveling tool then ordering one will give you more precise settings.

Oh,...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

That's good to hear.

Now, you'll need to go into the subtrim menu on your DX6i and work on the following: aerilon, pitch, and elevator. Mess around with the setting until you have all 3 servo's...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Hi patryn,

How are things with you today?

Sounds like right now you really need to get your swash set up with your DX6i so that all the stick inputs will respond properly. (You'll need a...

RE: DX6i with a CP Pro2 = destruction

Looks bad, but most heli crashes don't look all that great. :)

Good idea on leaving off the canopy and CF blades until you have things setup correctly - less items to replace.

You are...
