I have had my prototype for 3 or 4 weeks now and have test flown it in a 88" YAK 54.
It flew the model well, it starts easy and was reliable, and it will do all the rolling harriers torque rolling...

You will need to take a real close look, make sure to eliminate them as cracks.
I have marked up the two possible areas.

You might as well consider replacing the spark plug to NGK or Denso, I...

Looking at picture 2 it looks like the reed valve body has a hairline crack in it.
So I think you are in the right area with the cause.
If that is the problem then...

I don't think the bearing has failed, that crank journal looks mighty close to the rear casing ,I bet the crank journal has come loose from the crank webbing.
I have seen this happen before on that...

report I had this morning was started easily, gave good power, went through 4 back to back test flights didn't miss a beat.

Take one circlip out, push the gudgeon pin out so as to clear the con rod and bearing, turn piston round so triangle faces the exhaust port refit the circlip, make sure it sits in the groove...
