RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

They work great. I use Springairs in most of my warbirds and they have never failed me yet. (Yup,, I'm knockin on wood.)
The hardware is good quality and simple to install. I use Robart air tanks...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I second that LDM. Have a couple of friends looking for one after seeing mine. They do fly nicely.

Did some ground testing on my new gear rail mods a few weeks ago and took some pics for those...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I'm using all metal geared hi-torque Futaba servos except throttle and flaps. Just because that's what I had on hand at the time.
I think it's always a good idea to at least use a metal geared...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Justin,,,, I have a completely differant subject question for you. Those Lipo transmitter batteries that Common Sense sells ???
Do you need a regulator to reduce them to 9.6 volt ? Or just how...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Do they even make any mechanicals that will support that much plane ? I had to switch from 3/8" to 7/16" oleo struts.
Seems a 3/16" music wire strut would bend and wiggle just sitting there...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Thank you for the info and the PM !!! Was a case of being mis-informed by another CMP 190 owner. I thought I had the cheapy and the others had a solid wing. After more research I have found that...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

First off don't make the mistake I did and get the wrong "non-CMP" FW190. It is exactly the same plane except for the servo tray and fuel tank mounts. (There is no fuel tank placement on mine. Built...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Bummer,, hate to hear that. I won't comment on the St2300,,, makes some folks mad when you bash them. I do think I'll stick to 4 strokes and gassers on my warbirds though.
I haven't had a problem...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I had to add 7oz in the form of a socket filled with fishing weight lead. Battery and onboard glow unit are mounted to firewall inside fuse.
Saito 150.
rx bat= 4.8 2700mah Nimh
Glow unit uses...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Using a Saito 150 here and it's powered a bit better than scale. I'd say a G26 would do well. 8"inch Robinaire struts , Springair 704s and Robart 3"inch wheels. I have the 120 Spit with a 25cc...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Hi John. Ask your friend how it flys with the 3-bladed MA compared to the 2-bladed prop. I've played around with Saito 150 props and always went back to the 16x8 or the 16x6 , 2-blade. Was just...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

You know,,, after a few minutes of thought on this ,,, I'd say DO IT !!!
I had a guy tell me the 150 would be too much and I made it work. Just beef up everything to the max especially the whole...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I think it (180) would be overkill. Mine will fly great at half throttle or less. The vibration is also another concern.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Another question for you Broken.
Did the straight 3/16 music wire with alum shafts not give you enough flex on landings ? Is that why you changed to the wire with the curl ?
I set mine down...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

After pressurizing the tank. (Fill tank, cap the...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I got the spinner from SkySharkRC
It's the FW`190 D spinner. Fits better than the A model . Availible in 2 and 3 blade . Good alum and balanced right from the box.

Forgot to post my final...
