RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Hey guys. I'm selling my CMP clone (Nitroplanes) FW190. I just have too many hobbies and can't spend money on both so, it has to be sold to fund other projects.

It's listed here if you'd...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I'm just reading your post now. I fly at Bridgewater and at Beattie field in RI. If you ever want to fly at either field you can go as my guest. Just use my name (Bob Proulx) and you won't have...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Thanks. JG 54. I created all of the decals myself with water-slide decal paper sprayed with Lustre Kote flat clear to fuel-proof them.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I took over Rich Ross' 190. I swapped him a Seagull SuperStar that was given to me by a friend who I did some work for.

I decided that I wanted to paint mine like JG54 Eastern front. Paint...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I've read that folks have used G26's. This is a great motor as weight would otherwise need to be added to the nose to balance her.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I've only used CJ and Robart along with a set that came with my KMP 109. I am using it on a spit. not the 109 it came with due to the angle. I think the Robart's have been the best and most...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

I would be hesitant to buy CJ's. The CJ's I bought for my KMP 109 are pretty weak.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

For my Kyosho 109 (pictured above), I used a set of Robart's that I had left over from a CMP Zero that I put in in the spring. They seem to work great. I did however shim them to get close to the...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

A good harware store will have them and I think I've even seen them at Home Depot.

Rich: You missed the best flying day of the year today. I flew my Kyosho 109 for the first time and it flew...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Try using a long drill bit and installing carbon fiber Rod(s) in the stab. This will strengthen it quite a bit. I use this on .60 size planes that have YS 110's in them and have had good success.

Since you have had good success flying yours, could yopu check your wing incidence for me? Is it 0 to 0 with the stab. or something different?

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

How about outlining how you went about painting your plane? I am no expert at painting and I would be interested in knowing how you were able to get such great results.

I have a KMP ME 109 that...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

It's a KMP ME 109E. JG 26 #11. Artur Beese was the pilot who flew her. The plane went down near Calais in August 1940.

I cannot take credit as the one who had the popsicle stick idea. I...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

You can shim the retracts on top of the back retract block just under the retract lip with epoxy mixing (popsicle) sticks cut to correct length which will give you a bit more of an angle when the...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Rich:

I agree. I didn't realize that was you. I just remembered though that I do have an extra YS 120 sitting in my box of motors that could be used for this plane and that 120 rips.
