RE: NEW-E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Be nice to your TFX's guys. They are no longer making them apparently. Grab up the last few if you can. Maybe they'll make a replacement foamie with a little more side fuse area and some purpose...

RE: NEW-E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Gobrushless.com is a good site to try. E-foamies.com has them too. Call to check for stock. Dan said they were out of the chrome plated but they might have some in by now. You won't be sorry. If...

RE: NEW-E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Too bad you can't exchange the 450 for a MicroDan 2510-3D. Not only is it the perfect match for this airframe, you basically get a lifetime warranty on the motor. You pay shipping and Dan will fix it...

RE: NEW-E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Doesn't need them but it sure makes it fly a lot better! I wouldn't go to all that trouble for nothing. Certainly didn't do it for looks. And when Blake says he thinks it needs them, I have to trust...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

No build links just hack some depron and glue! Just kidding check out post #51 and #55 for mounting details. Someone has my templates so I can't copy and post them. Just eyeball it like I did. As...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

You need the 3.5"(or 45-50deg) if you want to fly decent 3D. The plane is light enough it needs all the throws you can give it. My D47's needed to have about1" to 1-1/8" arms(carbon scratch built)...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Try the SFG's and T-wing. Everyone who has tried these mods has reported better high alpha flight tendencies. I know mine wouldn't hover or harrier very well until I added the mods. After adding...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

2100's seem to do well in a lot of wind, but you're not going to get much 3D out of it, too heavy for this airframe really. The 1320 seems to be about the ideal size for this airframe. Gives you some...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Here's some shots of the latest enhancements to the already awesome TFX. Really seem to help me in the hovering, harriers, and downlines. Also much less rudder input during rolling manuevers. Stay...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Kind of noticed the same things on mine, so added the SFG's and T-wing. Helps quite a bit. Elevators and hovering are much improved. Plan to try out some smaller "wing fence" type SFG's in addition...

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Still have to wait for my flying bud to get back in town. We'll post my virgin(for now) TFX and his tricked out TFX for comparison. You'll get a good idea of how the little aerodynamic enhancements...

Added World Models tailwheel. Prefer them to skids, and they were laying around so it looked like a good spot for them.[&:]

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

My friend flew his today for 2 brief flights. The wind was up about 20+, so they were 2-3 minute check out flights. Still looks like an awesome bird. Can't wait to get my servos in and finish mine....

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Just took it out of the box. Cool little airframe and wing. A little dihedral built into bottom of wing. Should be a fun one! Basic airframe comes out at 8oz. with LG. Trying to keep it under 17oz....

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~

Should have mine by tommorrow. I'll be using MicroDan 2510-3D/Thunderbird 18/Tp1320/11 x 4.7SF prop. Have the AR6100 in it for Rx. Trying out the Dymond RC 4.7gm. servos too. Should be a great flyer....
