RE: Extreme Flight 87

jrjohn,

Thanks. I fly 3D - rolling harriers, lots of high alpha KE flight, tumbles, upright/inverted harriers, parachutes/elevators, blenders, flat-spins, and a little bit of hovering. So...

RE: Extreme Flight 87

Wake up! It's been just over two years since the last post on thread. I wonder how many people are still subscribed?

I'm looking to get into GS and someone has the EF 87" Yak for sale. Of...

Is the 9ZAP WC2 transmitter ratcheting tention adjustable?

I have a Futaba 9ZAP WC2 and I'd like to adjust the tension of the ratchet / detents or maybe even remove the ratcheting completely. How can this be done? I didn't see it in the manual.

Thanks,...

RE: How do I adjust the 9ZAP throttle stick?

Zeeb,

Yes, I did look under the grips. Thanks for the validation that I probably shouldn't open it up. I think I'll ask this question over in the Futaba help forum. Thanks for your help!

RE: How do I adjust the 9ZAP throttle stick?

Zeeb,

Thanks for the reply. The manual does show that the aileron, rudder, and elevator sticks can be adjusted for tension but not the throttle. I looked through the holes where a throttle...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

I am planning to move my tank back to the wing tube but had two questions:
- Is anyone using the stock tank in a pressurated (Cline / Iron Bay) system? Just wondering if I need to get an upgrade. ...

RE: What's the best grass for a flying field?

For those of you that use Rye grass on your fields, which months and how many times per month/week do you have to mow? This may significantly affect our overall budget.

Thanks,...

RE: What's the best grass for a flying field?

Thanks for the responses everyone! It seems that the consensus is that common Bermuda is the way to go. We are considering mizing that with Rye so it's green in the winter, but that will increase...

Closed - What's the best grass for a flying field?

I am with the SPARKS flying club in Houston, TX and we are creating a new field. We have downed the trees and are just about at the point where we need to seed with grass. What type of grass (or...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

If you have not tried the SFGs yet, I highly recommend them. I tried them for the first time last week and found that KE was incredible and harriers were much more stable. Without, I needed about...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

husafreak,

On the wing mount, what you may want to try is instead of a fixed post out of the wing with a clip on the inside, is to use a bolt out of the wing and a wing-nut on the inside. That...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

The big difference I see between the two is wingloading. My 69" is 19.4 oz/sq ft and the 73" is 24.2 (w/ the lightest weight engine) - that's 25% higher. That makes slow flight / stall...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

Jeff,

That sounds very odd...
- The weights are very different
- The website shows clearly that the engine requirements are different
- The 69" still shows on their website and Chief...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

Jeff,

I agree with OctaneHuffer. I trust Quique as a designer and I'm sure there are good reasons for the way they did it. I've had no issues with his setup and I see little or no gains from...

RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

What CG are people using for 3D flight? The recommended range is 6.5 to 7 inches from the TE of the wing-tips. I started at 6-3/4 and moved it back slowing through flight testing. I moved it back...

Thanks for the data. It's helpful to compare notes on props and performance.
