RE: Blade CP with sloppy servo's

That's because it's a "sloppy" heli to begin with. What did you expect for $219 ? I too was disappointed with the original factory RTF assembly work. Since then I have rebuilt my heli a couple of...

RE: Make your BCP blades tougher!

Here are some pictures of my first pair of woodies that I am currently repairing. Slow set marine grade (2 part) epoxy. Epoxy/wood glue doesn't stick to aluminum foil. Why even bother with the tape...

RE: Buy BladeCP in United Kingdom?

Look for an E-sky TWISTER CP. Virtually identical to the BLADE CP (same heli, different package) and available in the UK, £225.00. http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk/

RE: Blade needs some help

1 gram is about the weight of a paper clip. If a micro electric helicopter cannot lift the weight of 1 paper clip it has some rather serious mechanical or setup problem. Head speed and/or blade pitch...

RE: BCP Loose Blade Grips

You either have to add shims or shorten the spindle shaft. I found it quite easy to shorten the shaft. Disassemble the head, place the spindle shaft in a drill/chuck, (turn on drill, squeeze trigger)...

RE: Blade needs some help

Out of curiousity I just picked up a wooden flat blade and a carbon symmetrical blade for comparison. The difference in weight between the two is so negligable that I cannot readily discern which one...

RE: How to adjust "double blades"

I am not familiar with your helicopter, but typically you adjust (turn) the pitch links.

RE: Blade CP landing skids upgrade

I think that it would be quite easy to do a self upgrade of the stock skids. You could replace the carbon rods with some aluminum or tempered spring steel rods. Anyway the skids could be repairable...

RE: How to adjust "double blades"

Please indicate which or what helicopter you have. Does it have fixed pitch main blades or does it have CCPM? Are the blades wood, foam or plastic?

RE: Blade CP Crash Question

The exploded view of my BLADE CP is on page 27 of the manual, not page 25. My manual is dated 2005. There is only one teeny tiny, very skinny approximately half inch long Retaining Pin, part number...

RE: dd tail ?

Maybe all these motors dying is not because of having bad motors? Why don't you hook up the last motor directly to a battery and see if it truly is good or bad. Could it be that your 4in1 is crapping...

RE: Bdavison's E-flite Blade Assembly

The servo arms ARE repositionable if you can reach the screw. To reach the screw you may have to pull the entire servo from the frame, which can be difficult because the double sticky tape holds it...

RE: dd tail ?

Maybe when soldering, there was too much heat applied for too long. So the motor doesn't end up lasting very long because it has already been cooked. Those small solder tabs cannot endure very much...

RE: Bdavison's E-flite Blade Assembly

The servo arms are removable with just one screw. You can lift and then set the arm to a new position. You will then have to readjust the servo pushrods to again make the swashplate level. You need...

RE: dd tail ?

Thanks for your post. I'm still contemplating how soon to try the DD modification. I'll definitely use a heat sink on my motor, you should have too. Will also try 2 or 3 diodes in series with the...

Water break in of motors?

Water? It seems mechanically and intuitively wrong to immerse anything with bearings/bushings or electricity into water. Why not immerse the motor into light machine/hydraulic oil? If you want it...

Yes, you are right these post keep reappearing over and over. But it's nice for some of us who just joined in. Thankfully, since I just bought all the GWS parts to do a DD tail conversion. I still...

RE: dd tail ?

The capacitor is a "sparking" capacitor. It does 2 things. It soaks up the arc between the commutator and brushes, lengthening the life of the commutator and brushes. And it bypasses the Radio...

RE: blade cp will not hold a steady altitude

You either have to shim the space between the blade grips and center hub or you can do like I did and shorten the lenght of the spindle shaft. The difference (slop) seems to be related to whether or...

RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP

Great idea, except don't use water based glues because it can swell wood fibers. Use a high grade slow set epoxy. It will soak into the wood fibers and strenghten them. Good epoxy is typically strong...
