i feel you. $300 just for a case and anothe $200-300 for a head is too much. a PP 4 bolt zen can make 6HP with a stronger power curve and cost half as much.

carlo used to print dyno graphs on his motors- but since everyone went butthead about dyno's, they dont get posted. youre right about quickdraw, the design of zenoah heads is whats limiting power......

carlo from cc racing has been making engines with this power range for some time. 26cc if im not mistaken.

essentially, he has four twins stacked together. the coils are at the center and far end, and that being said, i'm sure there is some sort of bracket or mount that just isnt visible in the pic.

nothing visible supporting the crankshaft as a whole...... if each case has two bearings, and they are bolted together, with mounting plates on both ends, where is this support issue youre talking...

no, that engine is not the "same as strapping in multiple lipo's"- it takes more engineering to get that to work than to plug in deans connectors...

somehow this is a personal attack because i'm not swooning over nic case? sorry, ive seen a 26lb buggy go 65 over grass- so as far as i'm concerned, with 45-90c batteries out, and motors that will...

what i meant as ppl saying "whoa a 23cc that makes six HP".... what they should be saying is "whoa, a reed, port angle optimized 23cc that makes six HP"

the micro engines are reed and a completely different casting that zen, so power figures from comparable motors arent really viable....

six HP on a 23cc doesnt surprise me. 6 HP on a 23c ZEN, would. i suppose youd be able to get close with a reed case, but i dont think the transfer port entry angles are really good enough to support...
