no, clean the case as best you can before you put it back together. ive gone as far as running a wire wheel off my dremel in the case to clean it up, just get the brass colored wheel, or pay...

i was never a believer in the crank throat mod. all youre doing is making it harder for the air to get in. breathing through a smaller hole. you'd see better results looking at where the sleeve joins...

actually just yanked a sleeve out of a 3.3 that was stuck like a mother in there. had to get the pen torch and heat it up. sometimes the oil from the fuel will gum up and stick like glue. you usually...

wd-40 acts as a solvent. if you clean it with wd-40 make sure you wash all of it off and use another lubercant.

you want the transfer port marked to be at more of a strait angle- and the other...
