RE: R/C Nobler Topflite Gold Edition

Probably won't start the Nobler until late spring. The Kittiwake is an unhappy build and will take a while. But I know this thread will still be here!

RE: R/C Nobler Topflite Gold Edition

Just read 12 pages of this thread - nice to see such good results. Been flying the Nobler quite often with Real Flight 2 and very much like the way the sim version flies. Saw and bought a Gold...

RE: Just picked up a 'new' OS 90FS

Thanks for the posts. My Enya was orginally in my Four Star 60, but the fellow who bought it chose my OS91FS over the Enya, which relegated the Enya into the DR1. The Enya managed to break its...

RE: Just picked up a 'new' OS 90FS

Can't use the Enya props as they're bored out for the sleevenut needed for that engine. I thought this one might be less powerful as the instruction booklet mentions 12 to 15 inch props and only a...

Just picked up a 'new' OS 90FS

Got a very low-time OS 90FS (pre surpass, still has the glow plug at the front like an Enya) at a swap meet today. The price was decent too as I paid only $100 cdn for it. The engine looks and...

RE: Old OS MAX-H .60

If it is rear induction gold head then the needle valve from an OS 10 or 15 should fit. I broke my original in a crash and had a b!tch trying to find a replacement until I tried a wack of other...

RE: Just Engines Inc.--Bad Business

Seeing this warning made me gasp. I am another extremely satisfied JUST ENGINES customer, and would not hesitate in using them again or recommending them to others. Paul ships airmail, btw. ...

OS Header on an Enya 90 FS?

This weekend my trusty old Enya 90FS snapped its muffler on a bounced deadstick landing. Parts from Altec are expensive. Someone at the field suggested the header from an OS 90FS Surpass might...

RE: Want to convert built Sig Tristar

Thanks for responding Matt. Not really sure what it weighs. When the Tristar came out it was suggested to be built as a slope soarer, electric or glow. All the instructions say about electric is...

Want to convert built Sig Tristar

My only electric experience is a GWS fighter, which, imho, leaves a lot to be desired performance-wise.

My TriStar has a MDS 18 mounted as a pusher, turning an 8x4P prop. As far as I'm...

RE: Club Enya

Can I join too?

Enya 15III, 15IV, SS30BB, 90FS, 120R FS, and 155R FS (only one that hasn't yet seen fuel).

Trying to make up my mind if a Fox 25BB or the SS30 goes into my FF Taco.

RE: Hangar 9 Sport Cap 232 .40

Sullivan tailwheel it will be. Never been a big fan of most arf hardware to start with.

Irvine is definitely heavier. The FX61 weighs 19.4 Oz, not sure if that is muffler on but it is the...

So its still a Jetstream on the black limited edition even though its rear needle? I've been having a debate with myself on whether I get one of these limited edition 53s before they're nothing but...

Changing a ring on an Irvine 150

I'm in the process of trying to change the ring on my Irvine 150. It was real tough getting the connecting rod off the crank pin, but after a bit of prying with a blade screwdriver, it finally came....

RE: Hangar 9 Sport Cap 232 .40

Yep, thats it Razor. I've got an OS 61SF, OS Max 60H, ASP ringed .61, ST S61K and a Irvine Q72 not committed to airframes right now. From you fellows are saying, I'm thinking the Irvine might be...

RE: Great Planes Fokker DR1 rudder hinging

I wouldn't trust a CA hinge for the DR1's rudder. The hinging area compared to the overall surface of the rudder would make the likelyhood of a CA hinge tearing from the lateral pressure quite great.

Hangar 9 Sport Cap 232 .40

I just won one of these at a local funfly. 60" wingspan, and recommended engine range is .40 (I don't think so) to .58 or up to .72 4 stroke. I'd be interested in reading some comments on the kit,...

Great Planes Fokker DR1 rudder hinging

Instead of the large CA hinge supplied (looked dicey), I used a pair of Dubro 1/4 scale pinned hinges on the rudder. I've been flying it since spring, and have noticed that the hinges are beginning...

RE: Is the US-41 the biggest rear exhaust magneto engine available?

Quadra does have the Q52. Nice engine, reliable and easy starting. It is, unfortunately side exhaust but it doesn't really take up much of a wider footprint than the US41. I have both.

RE: Eyna 46 4 stroke on a Balsa USA Taube 40 ?

Jim,

If I'm remembering correctly I still had to add a bit of nose weight with the little Surpass -- the cloth covering does add a fair bit of weight. You can see by the picture that my engine...

RE: Eyna 46 4 stroke on a Balsa USA Taube 40 ?

I had an early OS 40 Surpass in mine. I built mine with the Rumpler Taube aileron mod as per RMC and used 21st Century fabric/paint for covering. It WAS underpowered to my likings but it did look...

RE: Great Planes DR-1 ARF

Just got my first three flights in on my GP DR1, and also managed my first damage. I've got an Enya 90 FS in mine. It was literally airborne in 5' when I powered it up. Just a bit of up and right...
