I ordered my new lumber tonight... Xoar laminated 29x10.... bwah hah hah!

Changed my mind on one thing... gonna use FASST instead. Also gonna lose the choke servo and use a SmartFly Kill...

Another couple weight loss items:

Soda bottle fuel tank... 4 ozs lighter than a Dubro tank.
Lose the choke servo and links... 2 ozs
Add a smartfly ignition kill... .6 ozs
Lose the ignition...

Reviving an old thread to let you know the Panzl is still alive and getting an overhaul. It's gonna be about 2 pounds lighter when done.

I sold the DA-100... have a DA-120 in the works.

Thanks I'll try it.

I reduced my rudder and the snaps were much better... also took a percent off the elevator... might put that back in.
We'll see.

There are finsihed at the field...

I stil ahven't cleaned it off... but it's strange... it's like the covering is pourous. The oil wipes off all the other covering fine, just not the yellow stuff.

Got 3 more flights today, doing...

Actually I do have a question... the lawnboy doesn't seem to want to come off the Pearlescant (sp?) Ultracote with my standard rubbing alcohol... any suggestions on how to clean this stuff?

After 4 flights it is flying wonderfully. I've got the CG about as far aft as I would want for IMAC... just about perfect. I may move...

If I remember right, the cable passes just behind the wood that forms the elevator servo cutouts.

Don't get me wrong... the Extra flies well and I enjoy it... I will be keeping it because I think it is the perfect back-up plane......

MAIDEN!!!

I balanced the plane first... as it sits it needed no weight whatsoever. On the maiden CG tests showed a perfect setup.

Range check... ridiculously long... I finally gave up...

Here's the cable cross I made from Ant tubes, thread, and thin CA. It prevents chafing where tje two pull-pull cable cross.

Here's how I put my radio in. Took a lot of thinking, but I'm happy...

Here's some more.

The fuel tank line... I added the small pice of brass tubing to keep the clunk from ever falling to the front of the tank.

I've got more done... in fact it should be ready to fly this weekend. I just have to put in the RX and batts and do the control throws... pretty cool, huh?

OK... Aileron hinging. I don't yet advocate or recommend this, but I split each aileron into 2 halves. This will:

Prevent binding
Reduce programming
In the case of a servo failure, will...

Another installment. Here's my choise of ignition components and their installation. You can see I replaced the Anderson Power Pole and all the RC plugs with Deans micro plugs... small, low...
