Tankengine, according to my old RC Report Engine Test book, the old OS 120 FS weighs 29.9 ounces with muffler. According to Tower's website, the OS 120S-E Surpass weighs 33.3 ounces with muffler. ...

RE: landing inverted

The 55AX wasn't designed to replace a 60, it was designed to replace a 46.....and it does an excellent job. But it also happens to have similar power to most sport class 60 size engines.

RE: landing inverted

Well.....yes I do put 91 and 120 engines in "60" size planes. Doesn't everyone? ;)

I'll agree that the Webra 61 speed weighs 1 pound, 3.4 ounces with the lightest of the three available...

RE: landing inverted

A Webra 61 speed weighs 15.7 ounces......without the muffler.
A 46AX weighs 13.2 ounces......without the muffler.

OOPS! The 46AX is 2.5 ounces lighter.

The stock 46AX muffler weighs 4...

RE: landing inverted

Tankengine, you should be able to log into the probro site now.

Your next plane should be a Mojo 40 or Mojo 60. They are kits, but are quick to build, super tough, and they fly great.

RE: landing inverted

Tom, I sent a message to one of the admins at the probro site to see what's going on with the delay in your registration. I'll let you know what he says.

I'm not quite sure where you're wanting...

RE: landing inverted

A 4 cell NiCd or NiMH battery pack is rated at 4.8 volts, and a 5 cell NiCd or NiMH battery pack is rated at 6 volts. It's that simple......you just use a 5 cell battery instead of a 4 cell battery....

RE: landing inverted

The OMP Edge is a good first profile, especially with a 55AX. The APC 13x4 works best for 3D flying.

The Futaba 130 servos will have adequate speed and power on 6 volts. But as your 3D skills...

RE: landing inverted

ProBro refers to The Profile Brotherhood, which is a group of guys who know each other from the internet, and share a common interest in flying 3D profile planes. Several of the guys who have...

RE: landing inverted

Like beauty, dangerous is a relative term.

Most any .60 size engine is pretty much a boat anchor by today's standards. Most manufacturers bored out the .60s to .90s, which made them lighter and...

RE: landing inverted

So what engines have you got in the .40 to .50 range? One of them might work good enough for a 3D profile plane without the need to buy a new engine.

There is really no need to replace your old...

RE: landing inverted

Tankengine, your guess was pretty close. The plane in the video weighs 4 1/2 pounds.

Learning to fly 3D isn't really as dangerous to a 3D profile plane as you would think. Since the forward...

RE: landing inverted

Tankengine, about 10 years ago I was in a similar situation as you were........getting bored with flying RC. Then I discovered 3D flying, and haven't been bored since!

Some complain that 3D...
