@ orangepeal: it's just fantastic to se a bipe "smoking"!! I first fitted the engine compartment with lead to get che correct CG, just unuseful weight. I had a 12V pump, so I bought a brushed motor...

Hi Rock!
The vertical piece and the vertical plate are things I added to place the smoke-pump and battery the most forward to get the correct CG without adding lead. Let me call it "useful weight"....

My Superskybolt has about 90-100 flights, it's my everyday flyer!
It's powered by an OS91 4 stroke. Performs beautifully and during my monthly inspections I see no failures in the engine...

I have a 14x6 on the very same OS91: runs very well and pulls really hard, give it a try. BTW I'll move to a 14x7, the 6 prop is a little too slow for me.

Saturday maiden flight of my Skybolt.
Setup is all "standard" with and OS91 engine.
As I gave power, she tracked straight with no bad tendecies, and no right rudder correction. A touch of up...

P-47 is a nice one!! I just finished a TF Corsair. Wanted a fun-plane, an everyday flyer for this spring and.... here I am with the Skybolt!

Minn, you're right, nothing a heat-gun and an iron is afraid of!
Model now is OK and ready for assembly.
btw, I have monokote coverd models that, once covered, never had such nasty wrinkles even...

Last night I finished ironing... Now fuse and wings are OK and I can start the assembly.
The pictures are not just the "bad-spots" everything came out of the box that way, seems like it has been...

Took some time to get through this thread! Really found very useful info to successfully set up my Skybolt I picked up yesterday at my LHS.
I spent all night to tighten that...
