RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Hi
The Rossi is 5-6 oz heavier than the os91vrdf or bvm91. The bvm has both beat.
The gash was from a friends pusher.... In a senior moment, I forgot the prop was back there. (Stupid error...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

To Razor,

I have not been doing speed for a while. But now I am back. I took your advice and got a BVM 96 from Dave Shadel. He was kind enough to set it up for propellor use and suggest a ring...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Thanks for the encouragement!
It sounds like a plan... The Mustang will be decommissioned as soon as we try the retracts. As for Germany, that may pose problems although maybe........

I have...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

UPDATE:

We went out this morning. A day to dream of...75/sunny/5-10mph breeze.

I have played with a couple of props changing the diameter and then re-balancing them. Some fillets were also...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Is it the Mustang wing or does it belong to something else? Very nicely done!

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Hi,

Thanks for the ideas and encouragement. I will try your ideas. Incidentally, the wheel-wells are covered with mylar, but it is very hard to see. They are not filled in as I may retrofit...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

That's not true. If no one questions things, we do not have valid protocols for finding believable and reproducible truths. I am in your debt as well as 'Andy Suncoast Sportplanes' who challenged me...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Hi,

Been a while since we were out. We have made some improvements but 177 mph is tops at this point. Per Bob27S request, I have included some pix of the plane, config, etc to give an idea of...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Hello Proptop,

Instead of the retracts, we added pants and radiused everything we could including the fixed gear. I took your advise and added ducting, placed fillets and smoothed out exits. You...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Thanks -- Yes it did. But if the tables were reversed, would I have fully believed me? I am not sure. Dual verification is always best.

Anyway ... now its onto more airframe mods -- add...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Thanks,

Do you think the Rossi and retracts will make it or will it break with that much up front?

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

The 174/169 reading was after the plane leveled off to a slight decent about 30 feet off the deck. The dive started off steep to unload the engine and then shallowed off to a 10 degree then level. I...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

Hi,

Been on vacation for a while

I have taken your advice and purchased a gps module for my Eagletree telemetry system. This gives us another very accurate tool to verify speed. We again...

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

RE: Telemetry from a 60 size mustang

I do not understand the problem. If the speed reading is within 1-2 mph of the readout of my van speedometer at 60-70 mph can it be that far off ???
