RE: 33cc homelite

I'm getting 7000-7200 rpm with Master Airscrew Classic 18-8 props on mine. Those aren't the most efficient props and you could do even better with better props. I don't know about the exact thrust...

RE: 33cc homelite

I don't have any problems at all with interference from my weedies or chainsaw conversions. I use only Hitec receivers.

The 25cc Homelite weedie engines are great but they need the bigger throat...

RE: 33cc homelite-carb. linkage

My BUSA Dr1 is 14+ lbs. and the Homelite 33 really hauls it. It flies around at half throttle no problem...whatever aerobatics I want to try.

RE: 33cc homelite

I weighed my 33cc Homelite and it's about 4-1/2 lbs. The 25cc one is about the same. The 33cc has much better power than the 25cc unless you put the bigger carb on the 25cc.

The converted...

RE: 33cc homelite

You're welcome, Doug. and thanks for the compliment on the DR1.

The first time I pulled one of those engines out of a saw I scared the heck out of myself. I didn't realize the four bolts on the...

RE: 33cc homelite

The Homelite 25s out of weedies make good engines but there is a little more work involved in converting them. They also need the bigger carb which you can get from wackerengines.com for $20. That...

RE: 33cc homelite

Cool pictures, Ron![sm=thumbup.gif] Congratulations! I've thought for a long time about doing something like that. Looks like you were pretty high up.

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

I've got the Realflight G2 simulator, but the one you have sounds like more fun.

I'll have to take a look at the clunk that came with the saw, maybe it's better than what comes with...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

I like the new camo job on the Stinson and I'm glad to hear that you've eliminated the glitches. It looks like your weather is better than here in Ohio. We just got slammed with more...

Hooker,

No mine doesn't cycle like that, it just beeps once and shows the EPA screen.

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

I agree the water-based stuff is easy to use. Normal exhaust goo doesn't affect it...just the raw gas that inevitably gets dripped on it.

You're right. The wacker muffler sticks out...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

You can put a coat of the oil-based Minwax on top of what you did. I had to do that on a plane. Just roughen it slightly with 600 paper first. It will make the colors slightly yellow but...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

The thing with the cups hooks is interesting. It sure sounds like that could cause a problem. I'm glad you mentioned this because I also use cuphooks for strapping the batteries and...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Hooker,

Most of my engines are that way. They always seem to be a little rough below half or 1/3 throttle. You can try leaning the idle mixture a little and see if that helps. The idle mixture...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Buck,

A Sopwith Triplane sounds neat! The Homie 33cc has only one ring but it's not a problem...it has good compression. With a Ryobi wouldn't you have to cut into the firewall because of the...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

I'm not sure how it works but somehow it processes the signal twice and refines what the receiver sees. All the Hitec receivers are dual-conversion and the newer Futabas are. The older Futabas are...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

Your receiver worked OK in the Stinson and for a while in the Hawk, so something must have happened. Is that receiver a dual-conversion one? They are supposed to reject harmonic...

RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

That first picture looks like it would make a nice flying site! ...except for the RF interference. Of course you have a better one!

I wish you could have heard the engines, too! you...

RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

Ron,

I got the 33cc engines mounted to the Hangar 9 mounts. I had to do a little modifying but I think they're going to work great. On the left mount I had to cut away some of the web to go...

RE: RE: RE: RE: 33cc homelite

JimW8ye,

I have a few questions.

Does it matter if the spark is blue or yellow?[sm=rolleyes.gif] I noticed that the Homelite 25cc engines I have (with the Walbro ign.) give a blue spark...
