RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Price may have been the early attraction but I think the longevity and performance held their fan's favor in the long run. Besides the two .46's I have a .61 that I bought at a swap meet N.I.B for...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

The direct and rapid reflection of price by demand would explain why I can't afford to just replace them with new O.S. AX series L.O.L.
Let's be fair though, price was what made Tower and GMS...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

By the time I wear these out again hopefully I'll be tired of them. I guess I am just a little different than a lot of people. When I find something I like I stick with it. I wouldn't have realized...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Just recieved the liners today and they fit fine. Everything appears to be identical except the boost and transfer ports are cut at a little sharper angle which makes them appear smalller when...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

I hate to even breathe life into this discussion but I can't help myself well enough to resist.

I haven't posted here as often as a lot of people as is evident in the number of posts I've...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Well I hope the correct O.D. of the liner for the Aquacraft is 1.004" not 1.000". I disassembled my old Tower .46's and they
measure 1.004". I guess the greater likelyhood is for someone to...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

So Bax, are the Aquacraft .46 liner and piston assemblies I ordered going to fit my Tower .46 engines?

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

They could also use the same part number if in fact they interchange. Of course if you watch their promotions the same item will often have a different number and price as far as that goes.

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

I went ahead and ordered them. For $16.00 a set I can't cry too hard. I admitted at first that being a tightwad got me in the situation to begin with.

Besides, Christmas is coming up if they...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Look again and you will see the O.D. listed for the Aquacraft is 25.4 mm or 1.00" and the Tower is 25.5 or 1.004"

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

I agree. I find it hard to believe that GMS would go to the trouble to machine two liners exactly the same in every way exept .004" on the O.D. I wish the difference were the other way around so it...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Hey Jim, what do you think? Tower has the piston/liner assemblies for the Aquacraft .46 in stock. They have all of the same specs. and dimensions except the O.D. of the Aquacraft sleeve is .004"...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

Yes they are the same ones. I think I got two of them from you. If I remember correctly you bought a pair on a "buy two for" special.

I have run them mercilessly. One has been on an old kit by...

RE: Tower Engines Gone?

I guess the saying "You snooze you lose." applies for me on this one. I was just on Tower's web site planning to order pistons and sleeves for my .46's. Needless to say I came here to get the scoop...
