RE: CNC Bell-Hiller

I figured Helimax would get around to a B/H conversion eventually.

Those weights on the flybar are crazy though. Even with those weights using a B/H head with the Axe's touchy stock Tx could be...

RE: Who's setup a brushless Tailmotor and been successfull

I hear ya.

Not to worry the OE pinion fits fine. Both motors have the same dia. shaft. 1.5mm I think.

Well all I can say is the set-up I have works great. So in that way for me at least...

RE: IHOBBY Competitor with Axe CP

My guess is it definately has a B/H head. I don't think tight 3d like that is even possible with a Hiller head. It also sounds like the main motor is BL and the rotor is running at at least 3000 RPM....

RE: Who's setup a brushless Tailmotor and been successfull

Hey Pilotlight I'm still around, I just haven't been frequenting the site as much.

Anyway I do have have a DD BL tail set-up and it works great. It took me a while to get it dialed in though.

RE: Axe CP Bell/Hiller conversion How-To

That's true to an extent. Some 3D can be done. Rolls and inverted flight and maybe even a loop can be done with a Hiller head. More aggressive 3D such as funnels and flips would need the more...

RE: Axe CP Bell/Hiller conversion How-To

Kinda, yes. It connects cyclic control, directly to the swashplate instead of going through the flybar first. This decreases cyclic response time giving the pilot quicker control.

The...

RE: Helimax axe CP...should i get it?

First let me say I like my Axe, but I can't recommend it if you already have a nitro heli. The Axe is great for a beginner, but if your used to the better Tx, Rx, and gyro of your nitro you may be...

RE: Axe CP won't lift off...

It shouldn't be your pitch. If it worked before the crash it should work after the repair or at least be able to get off the ground. It sounds like you may have flipped the blade grips. This is a...

RE: Surging Tail Motor & Main Motor

Seems like you have an unusual problem. At this point I'm not sure what it could be.
Have you tries to call Hobby Services at Heli-Max yet?

RE: Surging Tail Motor & Main Motor

The orange wire goes to the signal connection on channel 4.

I'm not sure about your surging though. I had a surging problem with the tail a while back when I was still using the 3-in-1 and as...

RE: Throttle/pitch curves

Your not the first to have this problem. Setting curves is one of the more difficult issues in setting up a heli. You may want to do a search of the Heli-Max form. There are at least a few threads...

RE: no luck with inverted tricks on the stock axe cp. you guys?

Ryan it would probably be impossible to do a flip with a stock Axe. The Hiller style head is not quick or reactive enough to pull off aggressive 3D. The Axe will do some mild 3D like easy rolls,...

RE: Main Rotor Gear Wobbly

Steve my stock maingear wobbled a bit too. I really think it was from the small amount of play between the shaft and bearings, but it's also true that sometimes the new shafts can come pre-bent....

RE: Main Rotor Gear Wobbly

Steve glad to help.

MMatheny I think he means as the main gear rotates it's liked a warped record.

RE: Alternative AXE CP parts

That's not exactly true. The "C" rating is just part of the equation. The "C" rating is a multiplier for the constant discharge amperage. On the batteries in MMatheny's post the constant discharge...

RE: Main Rotor Gear Wobbly

There is a bit of play between the mainshaft and bearings. If the blades are not tracking correctly the rotorhead will wobble and cause the shaft to wobble making the gear look warped. If you've...

RE: OUCH...AXE vs EARTH

It's for a rod that prevents tailrotor contact with the ground. The Axe has a fin instead but as you can see it's used in this pic of the Rotofly.

RE: OUCH...AXE vs EARTH

MMatheny it should work. As I said I'm using the plastic version and both my BL and the OE motor are 12mm wide. Worst case if it is a little tight some minor dremeling should alleviate fitment...

If you mean converting the Z-bends to ball type links I just did that mod too, but I had to buy the parts.

Anyway if your interested here's a link to my set-up.

After you get everything...

RE: OUCH...AXE vs EARTH

I was curious why are you making these ball ends?

Also as far as aluminum tail housings go there's a simpler solution (see pic). Here's a link to one on ebay. They are getting hard to find...
