It has to be firm, I will sugest to fill the fuel tubing with RTV, that will give the necessary support.
I support your statement about Central Hobbies, on top of the best HS for sure.

The 175 has the same diameter as the previous engine versions, it seems you have an nose ring wich is out of tolerance.
