RE: F-4U SEEN

It is just as scary in the cockpit on one of those low-slow passes, 10 knots above stall, trying to put some ordinance in one of those buried hill side emplacements.

RE: Flyin King Takeoffs

Try modifying the main gear to give about 2 to 3 deg of toe in. This usually helps keep a straight take off run.

RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

When I first converted a ST 3000 to gas, I was running the 1/4 X 28 spark plug. It really gave a lot of problems running the engine inverted because the plug fouled so easily. I tapped the head for a...

RE: Supertiger 3000

First conversion was to EI. Got a syncrospark and walboro carb adaptor from CH. Didn't like the 1/4" Plug so I tapped the head for 10mm. After a few flights the plug blew out of the head and had to...

I got some help from a former club member who is familiar with the 61 R. The 61 R definitelywon't run very rich at anything above 1/2 throttle. I made several runs and think I have a feel for the...

RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

AV gas has a fair amount of tetra ethyl lead in it. Enough that your glow plugs won't last very long. The TEL will poison the platinum and kill the catalytic capability.

RE: YS 61R-- adjusting the carb

I believe you are correct on the pipe size. After a little more research it fits the dimensions of a 40 size. One of Club members who gave it to me said it was for a 60, but I wasn't knowledgable...

RE: YS 61R-- adjusting the carb

At 2 1/4 turns open it won't go much above an idle before shutting down. I guess some regulator adjustment is in order.

After reading the article which Dar referenced, I decided to go back and...

Thanks,

RE: YS 61R

Thanks for the information, it is much appreciated. As far as the 20/20 fuel, I mix my own and use cool power oil with castor for all my glow engines.

Again, thanks for the information.
