RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

You just have to start the plane with the nose high about 15-20 degrees should work. Other wise it tends to flood a bit. Once it gets going you should be fine.

RE: Sig King Kobra

The King Kobra builds just like the Kougar. It's actually pretty simple and straightforward. If you want to know when the plane was designed and built I'd just call Sig Mfg. They shouldn't have...

RE: Glutton for punishment? My choice for a new trainer

Well, I handed the Apache off faster than I could take a picture. Now it's solely up to BigEd. About the build, there were a couple of irritating things. The tail wheel attaching method caused a...

RE: Glutton for punishment? My choice for a new trainer

Geez, you guys are demanding! I just got the Apache III to build on Monday! It'll be done this afternoon, though. I'll try to get a few pictures when it's done.

RE: Glutton for punishment? My choice for a new trainer

Hey BigEd,
Don't forget to mention the screwy nose gear stance. I've got a nasty injury from bending that hardened steel b@st@rd!

RE: Glutton for punishment? My choice for a new trainer

Sorry about the low quality pics. I took those at 9 pm last night in my basement. I'll see if I can round up a real camera today. If anyone's interested, getting the wing ready to bolt on took...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Hi Mr. Mugen,
The correct CG for the mustang is 3.1" from the leading edge at the wing root. Here's the GP website for confirmation. Have fun!

RE: Sig King Kobra

Looks great Wild Bill.  That Monocote is way too shiny, though.  You definately need to fly her some more!

RE: tt innovator problems resolved?

I've had one issue.  With the throttle trim all the way up, the motor will erratically cut out at about 1/3 throttle stick position.  I've flown it with the throttle trim all the way down without any...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

The Corsair is plenty stable. The P-47 might be easier to add gear to, just because of the gull wing on the Corsair.

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

You need someone to launch it for you and it can be interesting on launch. It's got alot of torque and tends to roll over a bit on takeoff. You could have it as a second plane if you're really good...

RE: Goldberg Tiger 2 "Extreme Plane Makeover"

Sorry, I'm just a sissy when it comes to my gassers! That and my wife would neuter me if I wrecked the 1/3 scale Pitts!

RE: Goldberg Tiger 2 "Extreme Plane Makeover"

FlyX,
I'm the guy who recovered the plane. The stripes are easy to make. I just taped down a ~10"x20" piece of black Monocote and used a razor to cut squiggly lines. End each end in points. ...

RE: 7CAF suddenly mixing rudder with throttle

Shouldn't you be working? :D Dan said he's heard of this problem and said it usually requires a trip to Futuaba central. That sucks. I also saw that tomorrow is supposed to be pretty windy, 20-30...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

WMB,
Yes to the previous reply. I have to start the engine a little nose high, but once it's running it's fine. I'm running a OS .25 and it really scoots. It'll even be able to handle those...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Yeah, that will do it too. Hope she flies better after the fix. I lost a servo in midair the other day. The left aileron went out, but fortunately stopped in a relative neutral position. It took...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

A small PVC stand would work. Here's one, there's tons out on the net.

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

I went with Nitro for mine. Just watch your fingers! Oh, and it takes two people to get it in the air. Make sure you get the metal geared servos for the wings. The rudder option hasn't seen much...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Hey Dead Roman,
1. Are your elevator halves lined up correctly? Same throws on both sides? Or do you have too much throw? I've got a flying wing that will snap out if you pull full elevator. ...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Worms,
Yeah, you could put standards in. It would require some hacking, though. My experiment here has actually worked pretty well. You can't see the covers in flight and the servos are still in...

RE: Great Planes Combat Corsair and Mustang

Well, here''s the maiden flight video. I didn''t even notice the hiccup on launch until I saw the video. Great flight, although a little short. Ran out of fuel after about 3.5 minutes. I think we...
