RE: Hostetler 310 Build

F2G-1,it's an addiction, one really hard to put down.:D:D That "routine" sounds like an excellent plan to me, wish I could be there to watch. I don't have the nav lights but do have two strobes...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

That's not too much heavier than mine, maybe about six pounds. My 1.20's haul mine around nicely so your G38's should get er' done.

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

Ted,

That white and maroon paint scheme will look very nice. As far as the type of paint to use, you have a lot more options now than I did when I painted mine. I used an acrylic enamel with...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

Ted,

It's coming right along, thanks for the pics of the progress. Ah, the decision of what color or colors to use. I painted mine white as the main color and used a medium red for the trim. The...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

That doesn't sound out of line. The tip tanks on my Nosen were made from 1/2 balsa , balsa spacers, etc., then glassed and painted. I'm thinking yours will be lighter than mine. I did utilize the...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

Ted,

I did notice the opening in the side of the fuselage, I was guessing that's what it would be for. It sounds like Dick has a lot left to do with the windscreen and cowls to build, I'm sure...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

Well, "hats off" to Dick, the builder, and I'm sure you'll make up for it when the "rivet party" starts.:D:D The paint scheme you pictured is sweet, actually, the plane will look good with just about...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

F2G-1, I would say you've been spending some time in the workshop on the 310 build.[sm=thumbs_up.gif] Anxious to see the pics of the tanks and wing panels. It's funny how someting that comes out a...

F2G-1, thanks for the nice pics, looks like you've been spending some time in the shop, looking good. I hope it fits out the door, knocking out a wall for a new door isn't fun, seen it done though....

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

F2G-1, Granted, the fowler flaps would be far out cool, but complicated. I do have a mock-up of a fowler system, it might be adaptable to your build. I'll snap a few pics and e-mail them to you. I...

RE: Hostetler 310 Build

F2G-1, good luck on the Cessna 310 build, it will be an excellent plane when you get it finished. I built the Bud Nosen 310 many years back and it's still in service today. The first item outside of...
