I've rarely heard anything negative about those components. And yes 9.5 will be plenty fast. I have a 13.5 right now, and when its geared right it will keep up with faster motors easy.

Sounds like you had the rear belt too tight. If you go with the center one-way then you won't be able to put the front one-way in too. AFAIK you will still have reverse with the center one-way, it...

To directly answer your question, the way to more power with the XL-5 is by a bigger battery and lower turn motor. It can handle a max of 8-cells nimh and 15 turns in a 540 size motor. Your current...
