RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

I have a Saito 100 and with an APC 14-8 prop I can climb out of site. There was no real issue with fit under the cowl either I think this was a good match for this plane. It is not to big or to small...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

gjeiffers - try flying the H9 1.5 Mustang with a Saito 220! All of my big birds with big engines pull a bit to the left. I do have to feather the rudder, nothing to drastic.

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

RC34074 Thanks for the tip, I just bought one from the scratch and dent. A few weeks ago I got hit by a tail wind and she went down, so with a perfect wing all I need is the fuselage and I will...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

CJ,

I to made the mistake of taking her up one more time with winds increasing. It was bad enough going up in a cross wind, during the last flight the wind went from my back to a cold wind in...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

CiCi, When I bought the 608's I consulted with the LHS, he pulled out one of the stock retracts and compared it to a 90 and then a 85. He recommended the 90 based off what he was seeing. It appeared...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

CiCi,

I used the 608HD Robarts with a 90 degree. I am glad I went and checked, I pulled the wing out on the bench and visually inspected after checking the package. I noticed two screws backed...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

I used the 90 degree, however I will have to check the packaging to be sure what model number they are. I was sure I used the 609's but will have to double check to be sure.

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

My CG is set at 5" and I think it is pretty good.
You are right about the stall being a non event, once you have your idle trim set right you can have some pretty nice landings.
My control...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

I got 6 successful landings in on the 609 Robarts yesterday with no sign of failures. With the wind coming straight down the runway at 15-18mph I was able to float the plane in and also really test...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

New Robart 609's are in, first flight will be tomorrow. One thing I noticed is the Robarts seem to be rock solid, by that I mean when the gear lock out they are locked! Very easy to install, I had to...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

CJ

I agree this plane is not a good first warbird, but it is a very easy flier. I found that it does land very nice at low speeds but does even better coming in a little hot. Unfortunately the...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

Great Forum guys, I need some retract advise. Today was my third flight and the stock retract on the right side blew out. There was no damage to the spar, basically the black plastic flanges blew out...
