RE: Zlin 526

I had the Sig model too. My only complaint was that it tended to nose over. As you can tell by the responses to this thread, this version, with the forward swept retracts does not suffer from...

RE: Zlin 526

Hi Ray,

Been way too hot here to work in my shop except between 2 AM and 6 AM, so have not been "at it" for a while and it may be a bit til things cool down. Probably should invest in an A/C...

DWG Files

Okay, all you CAD Gurus. I just received a DWG file containing the graphics for a model I am working on and I of course couldn't open it. I down loaded a program called "Freedwgviewer", but can't...

RE: Zlin 526

Father's day and I got some work done on the Zlin. I went to the Scale Masters qualifier here yesterday and was inspired to get this thing farther down the road and do the best I can, which means...

RE: THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!

When I saw the AMA solicitation in my e-mail I immediatly thought "I have to check the AMA discussion site on R/C U as I am sure the Neanderthals will once again be proving that they are brainless". ...

RE: Cessna 182 Scale Build

About the wing struts: I fly with them on the planes mainly because they look cool, but I have flown the float plane without them too (left them at home) and the wing is plenty strong enough to...

RE: Cessna 182 Scale Build

I use a 2C O.S. 61 SF/with pump on the wheel version with a 2 blade prop( 13/6) and I use a 2C O.S. 91 FX with a 3 blade prop on the float version. I have never used a 4C engine, but I would think...

RE: Cessna 182 Scale Build

Love those T pins,

When you build the motor mount, be careful as it is easy to build it upside down. I know as I did it....twice! When you are working on the fuse in the cabin area, be careful...

RE: Zlin 526

Now that the garage sale is done and and I have my construction table back I have been able to get a little work done on the Zlin. I started with the center section as starting in the middle seemed...

RE: Cessna 182 Scale Build

Nzak,

The plane weighs just under 12 lbs. It is glassed except I use clear nitrate dope instead of resin. It's easier to work with (less mess) and it weighs less.

Have not noticed any...

RE: Zlin 526

Here is the Zlin in it's "kitted" form. I have most of the major parts cut and I will start sticking things together this Sunday. I can't start til then as my wife wants to use my construction...

RE: Help with my G62!

It's a little hard to tell from what you are posting, but assuming you have good spark, the problem has to be fuel delivery.

Does the engine have a spring starter? Are you getting it good and...

RE: Cessna 182 Scale Build

I went a little crazy with the TF 182 and bult two of them. One on wheels and the other on floats. Great models and fun to fly. O.S .61 in the wheel version and O.S. .91 in the marine version....

RE: 1/4 Tiger Moths

I built a 1/4 scale TM from Mike Smart plans. It was a fairly straight forward build, but lots of ribs and sub ribs (all the same size tho). I powered it with a U.S. 41 which is plenty. The model...

RE: Zlin 526

LOL, not a problem. Will probably bury mine in the center section as well and will figure it out once I get things started.

Lew,

What size air flask are you using for the retracts and where have you located it?

RE: Zlin 526

The idea of test flying BEFORE paint is a big plus for electric. BTW, pretty country you fly in. Sort of looks like Boise in the Sping before all the green in the foothills turns brown.

10 lbs...

RE: Zlin 526

It's nice to hear that "nose over" is not a problem. I have pretty much settled on the Century retracts since they were designed for this plane. No need to re-invent the wheel!! They are a bit...

RE: Zlin 526

Hi Lew,

Very nice looking model. How does it handle a grass field? Any "nose over" problems?

I have been looking at retracts. At first glance, the plans appear to call for 95 deg...

The colors are what I am most concerned about. If you can send me that I would be most grateful.
